Hochschule fur Technik und Wirtschaft (HTW) is located in Berlin--the new capital of the recently unified Federal Republic of Germany. Berlin is an exciting and diverse city. In addition to its many galleries, theaters, and museums, it has the largest sports stadium, longest underground train network, and the most research institutes and pleasure boats in Germany. It has more tree-lined streets and pubs than any city between the Atlantic and the Ural mountains. The philosopher, Ernst Bloch, noted that in a vibrant metropolis such as Berlin, "not even the mortar ever really dries." The HTW campus is very conveniently situated in Karlshorst, a district of Berlin. More than 3000 students attend the three main schools of HTW. Majors include business and economics, mathematics, computer science, telecommunication, and mechanical and civil engineering. Students at HTW have access to a variety of exciting activities on campus. They may join a number of clubs and organizations, participate in team and intramural sports, or enjoy the numerous different cultural events sponsored by the university throughout the year.
Internships - It may be possible to participate in an internship through this program. While it is the student's responsibility to arrange for this internship, FHTW has close connections with many local and national businesses and institutions, and can help students find an appropriate employment site.
