Scotland: Glasgow

Study in the Arts, Humanities, Engineering and Sciences in one of the United Kingdom's oldest Universities. The University of Glasgow, over 550 years old, is located in the thriving, bustling city of Glasgow - Scotland's largest city. Glasgow is host to many major theatre and art companies, including the Scottish Ballet, Royal Scottish National Opera, and Scottish Opera. With a bustling centre and west end, full of new and contemporary pubs, restaurants and bistros, the City of Glasgow is a favourite location for students from all over the world - almost 25% of the student population are international students. Less than one hour's drive from the city, you can explore the rugged and spectacular scenery of the Scottish Highlands.

The Study Abroad programme at the University of Glasgow welcomes students for a full year, the fall semester or the spring semester, and summer session.

The University of Glasgow is one of the UK's leading universities with an international reputation for its research and teaching and an important role in the cultural and commercial life of the country.

With almost 17,000 undergraduate and 5,000 postgraduate students, it is one of the country's largest universities. Employing 5,700 staff, it is a major employer in the city and, with an annual turnover of GBP 285M, it makes a substantial contribution to the local economy.

Students on our programme can expect to be fully integrated into the university. A full Orientation programme welcomes students at the start of the study period.

The Study Abroad programme is truly flexible, (eg music and management; german and geography; chemistry and classics). Students can take a wide range of classes across departments which therefore makes it an ideal location for students from liberal arts backgrounds.

Students also have the opportunity to take studio art classes at the world-renowned Glasgow School of Art in combination with other classes at the University of Glasgow.
