When you join us as a student on the BA (Hons) Applied Business Management programme you become a key participant in a personal, supportive, interactive and challenging learning environment. Although gaining knowledge is an integral element of your studies, it is also about learning to apply knowledge.
We have built meaningful real-life work experiences into the course which provide you with an opportunity to gain experience of working for a particular type of company or in a particular industrial environment before you graduate.

Applied Business Management is a dynamic subject which will lead to a spectrum of potential career opportunities in the private, public and third sector. This course will set you up for a vocational and professional career in management and develop within you skills and capabilities useful for setting up and running your own business. Your development will take place through a transition from theory to practice culminating in live workplace projects which will immediately enhance your employability.

Highlights

We have close links with the business community. The Business Placements Service offers all types of businesses in Cumbria and North Lancashire a business support programme to increase business innovation, performance and productivity whilst also giving current students/graduates further skills and experience to increase their employability prospects.

There are a wide range of opportunities to study abroad at a European partner institution through the Erasmus programme. We have partnerships with universities in Denmark, Finland, Holland, France and Germany, with many courses taught in English. We also have exchange agreements with universities in USA, Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea.

You will also take part in a residential management development programme in the heart of the English Lake District which focuses on skills development, leadership, project management and team working.
