The Global Internship Program is a unique program that gives students the opportunity to earn academic course credit while gaining practical internship experience in their field of interest.
Berkeley Summer Sessions works in coordination with European Study Abroad (EUSA) and Academic Internship Council (AIC) to provide students with comprehensive academic internship programs and support in various locations around the world. With decades of placement history and strong employer networks, EUSA and AIC bring expertise and experience to its internship operations.
Rather than undergoing a time consuming search on their own, our team works with students to find connections with firms that will support their career goals in various locations. We offer internships in Dublin, Madrid, and Singapore which combine the benefits of our domestic internship program with international experience. In addition, participants will receive comprehensive support from Summer Sessions' professional staff that includes one-on-one career advising, interview preparation, resume review, prepared-to-work seminars, and other placement services.
Participation in an internship is supported by enrollment in a ten-week UC Berkeley online internship course, as well as a local culture course designed to acclimate participants to the city they will be interning at. Though the Bay Area site does not have a related culture course, we encourage participants interning at this location to take an additional course related to the field in which they are placed to help them further integrate their professional experience with their academic skills and goals.
Gain invaluable professional experience and academic credit by interning in Singapore, one of the world's most globalized countries. Located on a series of islands at the end of the Malay Peninsula, this urban country is a crossroads of international trade and a gateway to Asia. Singapore hosts the headquarters of many multinational corporations, making it an exceptionally diverse business community, which embraces a wide variety of industries. In addition to your internship, you will be living on the National University of Singapore campus. You will have access to the University's vast resources and will be taking an on-site seminar with local faculty, which will explore the many layers of current Singaporean society. Outside of your internship and the classroom you might be able to pick up some Chinese, Malay, or Tamil while exploring the diverse country via an excellent public transportation system.
The Singapore Internship Program offers internships in almost any field. Once you have been admitted to the program, you will meet with our team to talk about your interests and background based on which we will find you an internship in Singapore. We can't promise to find you an internship at a specific firm or organization, but we do promise to find you an internship that corresponds to your specific interests and background.
