UCI provides the personal attention of a small liberal arts college through opportunities to work closely with faculty members. The average class size is about 30 students and nearly 70 percent of all classes have fewer than 30 students. Irvine1s basic commitment to undergraduate education provides strong programs across all disciplines.

Students may choose from 51 undergraduate majors, 47 minors and a myriad of specializations, concentrations and emphases. As early as the freshman year, students may become directly involved in research projects, working side-by-side with faculty in state-of-the-art laboratories and with cutting-edge technology.
