  • Description

The University at Albany offers the opportunity to study abroad in Mexico through its partnership with Mexico Solidarity Network. This is a grassroots-based organization dedicated to profound social change that challenges existing power relationships and builds alternatives. The Mexico Solidarity Network struggles for democracy, economic justice and human rights on both sides of the US-Mexico border.

The Mexico Solidarity Network Spring and Fall semesters are 14-week, inter-disciplinary programs focusing on the context, strategy and tactics of Mexican social movements. The courses are open to college students and activists who want to investigate the theoretical groundings and actual manifestations of Mexican social movements, with important lessons for international solidarity work and US-based movements.
