Fall, Spring, Summer, Academic Year
Global in outlook and diverse in community, East Sussex's location acts as a perfect academic base in which to develop that sense of cultural awareness which is so important in a successful study abroad experience. The physical and cultural home for BISC is the magnificent castle, which was built in the 15th century. Today it is the oldest brick building still standing in England.
Students can study at the Bader International Study Center as early as their freshman year. The First-Year Program is unique in that it provides students from the very beginning of their undergraduate studies with an international perspective, a strong grounding in communication skills, core courses, and a sense of social and global awareness.
If this program interests you but you are not a freshman, why not look into BISC's Upper-Year Program. Students who have already completed at least a year of university study are eligible to apply. While there are similarities to the First Year Program, the Upper-Year Program emphasizes a more international and inter-disciplinary learning experience while at the same time providing a wide range in course options. Typical courses for all BISC students include: art history, astronomy, business, classics, cultural Studies, computing, drama, economics, English, film, French, geography, German, history, international studies, math, music and much more!
