Through your work project, host community and personal explorations, you'll learn that Brazil is more than favelas, beaches and beautiful people, it's an all consuming experience of the senses - music, dance, nightlife, astounding natural beauty and limitless adventures. You many even come back fluent in Portuguesequite a feat!
United Planet's Volunteer Abroad Quest program offers signature pre-departure and in-country training, personal volunteer support, meaningful volunteer opportunities, diverse cultural and learning activities, local excursions, a strong host family network, and much more.
Long-term Volunteer Quests are available for 6 months and 1 year. Volunteers receive personal and customized support and take part in intensive pre-departure training and in-country orientations as well as mid-year and final year camps with other volunteers from all over the world. You do not need any specific skills or language abilities to take part. You will attain new skills, competencies, and broadened global perspectives through your involvement in the long-term Quest program!
As a long-term volunteer, you will have the exciting opportunity to gain an even deeper understanding and appreciation of a foreign land and culture through service, language and inter-cultural training, cultural learning activities, and exploration.

There are many interesting destinations both in developed and developing countries. You can support children in communities throughout France and Italy; assist in agricultural, environmental, and community projects in New Zealand, Nepal, and India; help with AIDS/HIV programs in Uganda, Russia, Nigeria, or assist in human rights issues in Brazil, Bolivia, Mozambique, and Lithuania. These are just a few of the many opportunities that we offer!
United Planet is committed to the accessibility of programs for all. For less than the cost of living independently in many of our program countries, you can participate in a fully supported and well-structured international voluntary exchange program with over 60 years of experience. We hope that you will recognize and take advantage of this special opportunity.
Brazil:
Welcome to the "Republica Federativa do Brasil!" Brazil is the largest and most populous country in South America, and fifth largest in the world in both area & population.
Samba, Carnival, the Amazon, Capoeira: these are just a few of the things that make Brazil great. Spanning nearly half the continent, Brazil's regions are as varied as its wildlife and people, from the Amazon in the north to Iguauna Falls in the south. Brazil offers many amazing opportunities: wildlife spotting and treks to the jungle, surfing, snorkeling or dipping ones toes in the Atlantics crystal blue waters.
Specific projects in Brazil:
* Social Projects: Volunteers help children who are from families living in poverty or who have suffered violence or abuse.
* Human Rights Projects: Volunteers work with local non-profit organizations to assist in promoting human rights and advocacy for marginalized populations.
* Education Projects: Volunteers are involved in many ways to promote education, such as language classes, the arts, sports classes, or any other activities designed according to volunteers skills and experience. The goal is to keep young people in school by keeping them motivated to learn.
* Environmental Projects: Volunteers work with people marginalized in the local community, aiming to create a recycling project for them to guarantee an income. In addition, volunteers can work in environmental education through arts, computer classes and other activities to promote environmental preservation.
