  • Description

Combine volunteer work with intensive Spanish instruction in Venezuela, and get to know this lively Latin American way of life through direct cultural immersion. After your 1 or 4-week Spanish course in Playa Colorada in Mochima National Park or in the lively student town of Merida in the Andes Mountains, you will begin your volunteering commitment in one of several projects, which depend on volunteer assistance. Project work includes:

    - Working with street children or orphans
    - Caring for sick and injured animals in an animal shelter and cleaning out stalls
    - Cleaning up beaches and local recreational areas
    - Planting trees
    - Engaging in marine and animal protection
    - Organising environmental protection campaigns
    - Renovating recreational facilities such as football or volleyball fields

During your volunteer work, you will stay in a traditional beach lodge in Playa Colorada or in a posada in Merida; in both locations you will be accommodated with other volunteers from around the world. This means you will not only get to know Venezuelan culture - you will also forge other intercultural friendships.
