A trip which will take you to the wonderful Oasis of Fayoum, an opportunity to enjoy the wonderful fresh weather of the Egyptian country side which is something that makes Egypt so special apart from the monuments.

Fayoum also has a great historical importance as it used to be the cult center of god Sobek (the ancient Egyptian crocodile god) that's why it was originally named Crocodilopolis, then Arsinoe, and after the Arab invasion to Egypt they named it Fayoum, all this accompanied by the wonderful explanation of your private tour guide who will tell you all the history of the city.

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel around (08:00) for a 1.5 hours journey to the majestic city of al Fayoum, where you have the opportunity of visiting the huge wooden waterwheels, another incredible engineering feat by the ancient Egyptians, though less known than the mighty Pyramids. The waters of the Bahr Yusef are distributed throughout the oasis; approximately 200 of the great waterwheels are located throughout the oasis. The Seven Waterwheels, a Fayoum landmark, are surrounded by mangos, palms and willows.

Also you can see a great stone obelisk was erected in honor of King Senwosret I in Abgig during the 12th Dynasty. It was discovered on the ground in two pieces during the 18th century and was recently reconstructed and erected there. At the end of the tour you will be returned back to your hotel around (16:00)
