The Center for China Studies at Sichuan provides an opportunity for international students to study Chinese language at all levels on an intensive or non-intensive basis and gain an understanding of historical, social, political, economic, and cultural aspects of Chinese society. Located on the main campus of Sichuan University, the program offers quality courses taught in English, as well as field trips in the local area and optional activities and excursions. No prior language study is required.
The program also includes one (spring) or two (fall) weekend study tours outside of Chengdu. Travel to Emei Mountain and learn about Chinese religion, development and the environment while visiting this sacred Buddhist mountain. See the temples and the monkey preserve, as well as the Leshan Great Buddha, the largest stone sculpture of Buddha in the world. It is credited with a good nightlife scene and contains many new western style buildings in the large city center.
