  • Description

    Study in Ireland with Towson University in Summer 2012. This three week program will offer an analysis of the factors associated with both risk and protection for elementary age children in the public education system in Ireland. Participants will explore the similarities and differences employed by American schools and Dublin City schools to promote resilient student behavior. The program features visits to local clinics, schools, and training colleges and active field study within the city of Dublin.

    The program is based in Dublin - the largest city and capital of Ireland. It has a booming economy and one of the fastest growing populations of any European capital city with over one million residents. This cosmopolitan vibrant city is steeped in history but also offers every modern convenience including great restaurants, shopping, live music and pubs.

    Program highlights include guest lectures from local researchers, visits to the Children's Research Center at Trinity College, the Centre for Integrated Education, the National Museum of Ireland, and Dail Eireann (Irish Parliament) and excursions to Galway and Belfast.
