  • Description

The program is carried in various health institutions which we have affiliated with for a long time.

The institutions are District hospitals, Health Centers and clinics. The placement is open to pre-medical and nursing students who have the desire to pursue relevant medical and nursing profession in the future. The accepted candidates are placed in the health establishment where they are assigned to different departments at the health institution and a supervisor who will work with them at all times since they don't have any experience in carrying out the various treatment procedures on the patients.

Volunteers are placed in a Rotational kind of program, where they have a chance to learn the common tropical diseases in africa and also assist in the small procedures that require in training. Here the volunteers get hands-on experience on basic procedures after learning from the professions, they are involved in basic procedures like wound dressing, giving immunization to the kids, measuring highblood pressure from the patients, taking of weights and they are invited to see a procedure that is carried out at the theatre during operational days e.t.c.

The program needs a lot of open minded and flexibility because it's really different at the health institution compared to the hospital and health centers, in terms of diagnostic procedures, treatment and technology in developed countries.
