Volunteers working at this project will help to teach English, reading, writing, drawing and games. They will work at the school while living at a volunteer's guest house from Monday to Friday. They may help with administration and aiding the headmistress, or working as a teaching assistant in the various subjects like mathematics and science.
The Volunteer should be to meet his/her own travel costs to Uganda. The organisation charges USD 150 per week and this covers your meal, accommodation and airport pick up to the project site.
The applicant to this positing should be fluent in English and qualification as a teacher is an added advantage but not a pre-requisite.

TASAAGA exists to contribute to the eradication of suffering, oppression and other injustices brought about by HIV/AIDS and poverty in marginalised communities of Uganda. TASAAGA's Objectives To educate 3600 people about prevention of HIV/AIDS, Malaria and TB in 3 rural and fishing communities by the year 2015. To help eradicate extreme poverty and hunger in 150 women headed households in 3 rural and fishing communities by the year 2015 through micro-finance services. To contribute to the Universal Primary Education goals by ensuring that at least 120 orphans and other vulnerable children in Wakiso District complete a full course of primary education by the year 2015. To advocate and create awareness about the injustices faced by people in rural and fishing communities. To network and collaborate with government, churches, other non-government organizations internationally and locally to achieve TASAAGA's mission and objectives.
