  • Description

    Interested volunteers at our Silva Project have the chance to work and assist our staff in environmental and social causes. Participants will take care of endangered horses or do organic farming program.

    The Silva Project recruits farm and equestrian volunteers on a rolling basis. Volunteering involves mucking, feeding, cleaning, barn maintenance, animal care, etc. Assisting our head trainer in giving lessons to Greek children and pony training.

  • Highlights

    Volunteers stay at the beautiful Villa Silva, just outside Corfu Town. The gated estate spans 25 seaside acres and has a beach, equestrian facilities, gardens and walking paths. Interns live and eat together with the director of the Silva Project and have many opportunities to build friendships and life-long connections that bridge generations and cultures.

  • Qualifications

    The Silva Project looks for highly motivated, creative individuals to take part in our volunteer programs. Previous experience in the area of your work assignment (equestrian, agriculture) is preferred but not essential.

    Additional requirements include:

    - Must love animals!
    - A minimum of 2 years experience with horses: you must know how to lead, lunge, tack up and groom OR
    - A willingness to work around horses in a maintenance capacity
    - Must pay for transportation to Corfu
    - Must have an up-to-date tetnus shot
    - Must be 21 or older
    - Must commit to at least one month of volunteer time
