Description

The Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy part of The New School for Public Engagement in New York City blends theory and practice to prepare a new generation of professionals to become agents of change in an increasingly complex and interconnected world.

Each summer, Milanos International Field Program (IFP) program offers opportunities ranging from rural community development fieldwork to internships with international organizations. These programs expose students to experiences that can only be gained by living and working within communities. Our students will travel to seven unique sites Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Hong Kong, Kosovo, South Africa and Uganda.

Participants receive rigorous training in research, data collection, report and grant writing, monitoring and evaluation, and cultural awareness. They work with humanitarian relief organizations like the International Rescue Committee, health and human service organizations like the African Services Committee, and other institutions ranging from the Asian Human Rights Commission in Hong Kong to Argentinas Ministry of Economy in Buenos Aires.
