SERVE Nazareth is an opportunity to serve in Nazareth, Israel. We work alongside local churches and the community as well as our hospital helping in various wards. Serving the community of Nazareth and building relationships is an experience that will grow and shape you in amazing ways! Opportunities to learn language, cultural and Biblical understanding as well as other areas of teaching will be provided on our campus as part of your experience. We apply the skills and interests you have to the placements you will be serving to make the most of your time in Israel.

Different placements include:
Hospital - working within wards- Maternity, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, ER, Psychiatry, Physiotherapy, Surgical, Cardiac IC. (you do not have to have a degree to volunteer within the hospital, work loads will vary, similar to nurses aid)

Hospital - within maintenance tasks include: - Gardening, Painting, Cleaning, etc.

The Nazareth Village- A recreation of the first century located right below our Hospital.

Tasks include: Shepherding, Construction, Gardening, Acting, etc.

Community projects include: Working with youth and children, construction, trash pick ups, painting, working with the elderly, teaching English, and other opportunities.

Working with many different ministries and churches- tasks include: children and youth work, construction, landscaping, camps, teaching English, helping with education, etc.

Highlights

Travel trips will be taken within the program to various places like Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Cana, Jordan River, Golan Heights, etc.

Possible accreditation for university students through learning courses and experience.

Hands on experience within The Nazareth Hospital EMMS. (our hospital)
Working on The Nazareth Village lands, gaining a deeper understanding of first century history and culture.

Typical Volunteer

participants will be involved in a number of different areas of service dependent upon their comfort, experience and desire. Volunteering within our hospital offers a great experience as well as a number of other places within the community of Nazareth. Working within the hospital will include nurses aid work among other things. Relationships and hospitality is a big part of culture here which we also allow participants to learn from this and build lasting friendships. Teachings, time off to travel, recreation and other activities are much a part of the program as well.
