    Located downtown, in the former French Quarters behind the Bund, our school is based in a very nice newly-built group of houses, overlooking a central Chinese style garden square in a peaceful residential area. The complex is particularly well placed and makes an excellent setting for the school.

    Within a couple of minutes walk away, you'll find restaurants, cafes, embassies, nice hotels and busy streets... The French atmosphere still flows in the air& Your accommodation is also nearby, only a couple of minutes away on foot or by taxi for the less energetic!

    General Information:

    Documents: A visa is needed for travel to China. Early registration (minimum 6 weeks) is advised to allow time for this process. Depending on your length of stay and other travel plans, you may need a tourist or student visa. Passports must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended length of stay. Contact your nearest Chinese embassy for details.

    Money: The Chinese currency is the RenMinBi (currency of the people of China) pronounce R M B- but Chinese people also use Yuan'. You can say 10 Yuan or 10 R M B. We suggest you take at least 2 different credit cards plus travelers check. ATM and Cash Machines generally only accept credit cards. Bank of China ATM's tend to work best with foreign cards and are relatively easy to find.

    Textbooks are provided. You may want to bring a dictionary to use during free time.

    Weather: Cold in Winter, pleasant late spring/early fall (dust storms April/May), hot in summer (July is rainy)

    Cell (Mobile) Phone: Useful to get one locally - you can call us for directions if you get lost!

    Cabs: Good value, generally safe. Average cost 25 RMB for half hour drive.
