Don, a hotelier from the USA, has lived and worked in Asia for over twenty years, managed four and five star resorts in Bali, Indonesia and Malaysia, previous to this, he was attached to Hyatt Regency in San Francisco and Oakland, California as well as Marriott Hotel. He and his Indonesian wife, Ita, have opened The Maritim Guest House in Jakarta for those seeking home-style accommodation. Come experience Indonesia with homemade meals from our kitchen. Organic vegetables are offered with meals when available from their own garden right at the guest house. Mango jam made with mango's from trees at the property is available much of the year and more.

Relax in one of eight comfortably decorated bedrooms with views of tropical gardens within a secure walled compound. An exceptional value is to be had for those who discover what others have described as a little "gem". The guest house is newly renovated (February, 2011) single story establishment. After a long day of travel or work, there is no need to deal with steps to an upper story bedroom.

The room rate includes complimentary breakfast plus one other meal, lunch or dinner, therefore taking the worry out of your day regarding where and what to eat with the added benefit food prepared to a hygienic standard eliminating the worry of tummy problems. Don has always had a sensitive stomach so he makes it a priority that all veggies are cleaned only with bottled water or water from an imported filter used by NASA. Hygiene is always in focus. Every attempt is made to cook the food offered in a healthier way with minimal oil. Not in the mood for Indonesian food? A western dish such as an order of Mediterranean pasta, for example, can be prepared. If you would like to order some food from recommended local restaurants, we can send our staff to pick up your requests for you, of course, with your advance payment.

We also have a treadmill room, with one treadmill machine for our health buffs visitors.

For the comfort and safety of all guests, the guest house is a non-smoking establishment. Smoking is only allowed outdoors on the front terrace or in the garden area.

Location

We are located in South Jakarta off of busy Jalan (Avenue) Fatmawati. Our staff can assist you in obtaining one of the many taxis. Jalan Fatmawati is transitioning and is dotted with casual eateries, grocery stores, laundries, fruit stands, medical facilities and pharmacies. Our location is ten minutes equal distance by taxi to Cilandak Town Square Mall (Citos) and Pondok Indah Mall where finer restaurants and cafes as well as the usual fast food outlets abound. The South Jakarta business district of TB Simatupang is also ten minutes away. We are a one-minute walk to Wisma Subud and The British Institute. Jakarta International School is five minutes away by taxi.
