The Language House is an organization that provides teacher training to facilitate teaching English abroad. With an ever increasing demand and a variety of English teaching jobs, we focus on Mediterranean countries. Our TEFL/TESOL certificate is internationally recognized and follows The British Council criteria with over 120 hours of class time. After our training, you will be well on your way to exploring this part of the world by teaching. Upon completion of our program, we assist with finding employment in Italy, Spain, France, Tunisia, Morocco and Egypt.

Perfectly located as the gateway to Lake Como, Como is a small town just north of Milan with charm and architectural grace. Como is the base for exploring the fairytale lakeside villages.

Its medieval old town is an intricate labyrinth of alleyways, where among the shops, restaurants, and local stores, visitors can catch sight of the city's noble past in its 16th century palazzos, baroque edifices, and Romanesque churches, looming over the little piazzas.

While taking the TEFL certification course our trainees also have time to visit Milan, a world famous bustling city as well as the small beautiful gems of Bellagio, Tremezzo and Lugano surrounding the Lake.

Highlights

Unlike many certificate programs, we provide the opportunity to teach both children and adults which is important when looking for work abroad.

The TESOL Certificate- Teachers of English to Students of Other Languages- provides training for those who have little or no teaching experience who wish to enter the English teaching profession.

Our course is externally moderated with all major segments graded before successful completion of the course.

The course is four weeks which entails 120 hours of classroom time. The first two weeks are mostly classroom sessions. The main components included are:
- Grammar
- Phonology
- Teaching Techniques
- Classroom Management
- Teaching of an unknown language

In the first two weeks, our trainees are students and while moving into the second two weeks, they assume the role of teacher by participating in Observed Teacher Practice. After all, the best way to learn anything is to actually do it.

Qualifications

For our TESOL program, all applicants must be native or near native- English speakers of 18 years of age or older. A university degree is preferable. No prior teaching experience necessary.
