We provide a wide range of English language courses, teacher training and language improvement programmes, aimed at foreigners wishing to study English in Cape Town or locals for whom English is not the mother tongue. We currently have students from Europe, Africa, Asia and South America and offer a truly multi-cultural environment. Great homestay accommodation is abundant in our area and being close to the University of Cape Town, there are plenty of local activities and social opportunities. We also provide classes in Mathematics, Afrikaans, Xhosa and French. Corporate clients are welcome and training can be conducted 'on-site' - Call us for details of cost-effective packages
Our teacher training has proven itself to be amongst the most effective, intensive courses available. TKW has established itself as a highly recommended gateway to the world of TEFL opportunities. Our 100-120 hour TEFL course is internationally recognized; rigorous; but a lot of fun and will bring out the teacher in almost anyone. We provide independent advice on work placements to assist the teacher in finding their ideal post. Furthermore, our network of past graduates can give a good insight into working and living conditions in various locations around the world. Our course information and registration form can be downloaded on the TEFL course page of our website. Or, call us its always good to talk!
Travel/tour packages: Working hand-in-hand with local tour guides, we can tailor a program to suit your requirements. We can assist with anything from finding a hostel/hotel to booking your dream safari. Please contact us or see our website for further details and a quote.
School programs: We have pioneered some initiatives to benefit local people such as our Schools Assist program, where TEFL graduates gain experience by providing under resourced English departments with assistance. This win-win initiative benefits everyone by introducing new ideas and methodologies into the classroom while the TEFL trainee gains a wonderfully rich teaching experience and valuable references for their CV. We also provide study assistance to school learners in the form of specialised tutors.
Quality, attention to detail and results are what make our courses popular roughly half of our new students come through referrals from past students!
Our school has a unique atmosphere with a relaxed and homely feel. We have an enclosed, central courtyard with many plants and a braai (BBQ fireplace) for school gatherings. We have computers for student use with broadband internet, and also free wi-fi for students.
Our budget-priced language improvement courses for South Africans aim to directly address the needs of South Africans for whom English is a 2nd or foreign language. This is also a good platform for recently trained teachers to get genuine classroom experience.
Finally, our location in Rosebank, Cape Town is simply beautiful, relaxed yet inspiring with many activites and adventures to be had on our doorstep.
