  • Description

Whether you want to polish up the knowledge of a high school class, learn from scratch, or turn your advanced skills into fluent, learning in an immersion environment is the most effective way to learn Spanish.

Our Spanish Abroad Program is very flexible. You can study any length of time from two weeks to four months. We will make sure you have time to get to know the country of your placement; this is an invaluable way to improve your language skills. Furthermore, it is important not just to learn Spanish, but also to get to know the country. By learning more about the country, as well as it's people, you will benefit from a well-rounded learning experience.

You will be living with a local host family. They do not simply provide a bed for you to sleep in. Rather, they will welcome you as a part of their daily lives, sharing their traditions and experiences with you. Host families for language learning participants do not speak any English. This ensures that you will benefit from the ultimate immersion environment. Your host family will work with you to improve your language skills during your Spanish Abroad placement.

    Types of Programs:

Standard Program -- Learn Spanish while volunteering, interning, or researching, or simply learn Spanish. Instruction in Lima is one-on-one. All teachers are university-trained Spanish professors. You will learn through reading & writing, the use of media, and field trips where you are guided in actively praticing your Spanish.

Intensive Add-on -- This is an optional two weeks that you can add on to the beginning of your volunteer, intern, or research program. In this short time be able to verbally express opinions and acquired knowledge fluently, coherently, and consistently; with this level you can complete a volunteer or internship program which requires basic Spanish. Intensive add-on is alwasy taught one-on-one, or two students to a class. You will study 3hours, 5 days a week, for 2 weeks.

Virtual Intensive Add-on -- Before your departure, from the comfort of your own home (or from anywhere in the world), complete the exact same thirty hours of Spanish as the regular Intensive add-on. All classes are arranged with your schedule, and are delivered via Skype by our trained professional Spanish teachers.
