The Graphic Design Master courses are intended for graduates, young designers, students with professional training and/or experience in: Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Interactive Media, Communication Sciences, and Computer Sciences.
The graphic design master includes the execution of assignments encountered by professionals in the field. The master program assists students in developing creative conceptual thinking and group responsiveness, producing sophisticated applications of graphic design solutions, and intensive training in advanced technology.
Each one year graphic design master course is 30 weeks in duration. Emphasis is placed on learning the concepts and skills for creating computer graphics, web design, and illustrations. The design program provides a theoretical and practical approach to education offering professional skills, theoretical foundation, and general education to aid students in the development and maturation of their artistic abilities and to solidify their technical skills. Tools include graphic design software such as Adobe PhotoShop, Macromedia, Adobe Illustrator, 3d Studio MAX and other applications.
The Florence Institute is an international design school providing both masters and academic level Italian design courses. Field Trips:
The Field trips form an integral part of the Florence Institute's curriculum. The school is located in close proximity to some of Florence's most important museums and cultural sites. Students are required to attend all field trips that are scheduled for classes in which they are enrolled and should budget and additional 100 Euro per semester for various travel and ticket cost.

The Florence Institute awards financial aid in the form of grants based on need to qualified applicants. The amount of financial aid grants awarded each semester varies with a minimum of 10% of the students receiving grants. Apply early to improve your chances of receiving financial aid. To be considered for a grant you must: 1) Be qualified for one of the Institute's programs as per the admissions page. 2) Submit either: a) a portfolio or b) an essay: a. Portfolios should include 3 projects (renderings, drawings, arte, or models) b. Instead of a portfolio, academic students can submit a 150 word essay explaining "Why I wish to study design in Florence" Requirements for Financial Aid: In order to avoid a reduction in their financial aid award, during the academic year, students are required to carry a "B" average in all classes.
