  • Description

    Internship, au pair positions, volunteering projects, hotel jobs and language courses available all year round in English speaking countries

    * The internship placements take place in the UK and Ireland, for a minimum period of 4 weeks, unpaid for most of the positions but can be paid if longer than 4 months in the UK. We can arrange accommodation with host families.

    * Au pair positions are available in the UK, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. Minimum length of stay is 2 months in the summer for Ireland and the UK and 6 months the rest of the year for all countries. A local coordinator will make sure your stay remains a memorable one.

    * Volunteering programs take place in Ghana, Tanzania, South Africa, for a minimum stay of 2 weeks, the projects are located in schools, daycare, orphanages and hospitals. No experience is needed, a local coordinator will supervise your mission. Accommodation is often provided by local host families.

    * Hotel jobs are located in the UK. Only EEC members can apply. Minimum period of 6 months. Accommodation can be arranged.

    * Language courses are organized in Dublin and Killarney in Ireland and in Malta for beginners up to advanced levels. Our programs range from family, senior and individual programs. Accommodation can be arranged with host families or self catering studios.

  • Qualifications

    For au pairs: to be 18, experienced with children and speak basic English
    For internship: to be 18, have spent at least 6 months at college or university, speak intermediate English
    For volunteers: to be 18, speak intermediate English
    For hotel jobs: you must be from the EEC and able to converse in English
    For English courses, basic to advanced English is taught in our language schools so there is no specific qualification to follow a language course.

  • Program Fees Include:

    Depending on the program chosen, the fees include registration fee of 80 euros. The placement fee depends on the type of program chosen. The placement fee for an au pair is 190 euros and includes in country staff support and placement with host family.

    For volunteering programs, the minimum placement fee is 500 euros which includes in country staff support, orientation day, local language initiation, food, accommodation with host family, this fee varies according to length of stay. For work placements/ internships, the fee varies according to the length of stay and if the applicant wants accommodation to be found for him and if he wants to be paid during his work placement.

  • Salary/Pay

    au pairs will be paid on a weekly basis, a minimum of 70euros in the UK, 90euros in Ireland, 80euros for NZ, Australia and South Africa volunteers will not receive help from the employer from any stipend interns will receive from 50euros to 120euros per week if they stay for 4 months and over. Hotel job wages will be based on the minimum wage and vary according to type of position

    Placement is arranged according to the applicant's skills and abilities or experience. Once the profile has been studied the coordinator will forward the details of the applicant to the school for instance suggesting what kind of duties can be performed during the project, the school will also suggest what duties can be done by the volunteer. The volunteer will probably help with teaching various subjects in small groups. If he is talented with music he can bring an instrument and educate the children using his musical skills. The volunteer can also participate with preparing teaching materials, with sport activities, with social events, he can also help with administrative work and will give a hand with school maintenance if he is skilled at DIY. The coordinator will provide orientation on the first day of arrival, take the volunteer to his project, introduce him to the team, help with practical issues such as getting to know the area, meeting other volunteers. He will also be there to assist with any problem that may arise during the stay. Before departure, the office The English Corner will provide with all documents needed to prepare the applicant to his new venture: details of mission, details of host family and a booklet that will explain in detail safety issues, hygiene issues and medical issues, amongst other topics. The home office will also help the applicant in terms of travel and visas and advise coordinator of the applicant's arrival so that transfer can be arranged.
