  • Description

The University of Western Australia (UWA) is Western Australia's oldest university and has acquired an international reputation for academic excellence and achievement. The University has a total of over 15,000 students including more than 2,000 international students. UWA is located on the banks of the Swan River in Perth, 3 miles from the Central Business District (CBD). The picturesque 163-acre campus is regarded as one of the most beautiful in Australia, with Mediterranean-style buildings and serene garden landscape. UWA is situated next to a main highway, giving quick and easy access to Perth's CBD, major shopping centers and beaches.

Join Study Australia on an optional tour of the Great Barrier Reef and Tropical North Queensland. After Study Australia's 5-day orientation in Sydney, head up the coast to experience the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef, explore the tropical rainforests and native wildlife, participate in extreme activities such as white water rafting and bungy jumping, and soak up the Australian sun. Then head to your host university to begin your studies. Complete trip details will be available in March. This trip is open to semester participants only.

  • Highlights

The Study Australia program includes a 5-day group orientation (for most of our sites), guaranteed, fully furnished and prearranged housing for your entire stay abroad, a Resident Director, and more.

Established in 1911, the University of Western Australia is regarded as one of Australia's top research institutions and is a member of the Group of Eight, which is a coalition of Australia's leading universities engaged in and committed to high-quality teaching, research and scholarship. UWA offers a choice of units from more than 65 fields of study in 50+ teaching departments and centers with more than 1,000 highly qualified academic staff members. UWA has a consistent record of attracting the State's top performing high school graduates. In 2002, more that 75% of the State's top 1,000 high-school graduates nominated UWA as their first choice, an increase of more than 4% from the previous years.
