The Classical Tutu has always been shrouded in secrecy, with the construction techniques often guarded by professionals in the industry. You will be given an insight into the complexities of cut and construction of the classic ballet tutu and the opportunity to immerse yourself in the intricacies of the ballet costume.
This course is ideal for students who have an interest in ballet construction and design. It will provide an opportunity to understand and learn some very specialist skills and working methods used in the ballet tutu. Through the exploration of the construction of the Plate Tutu and 16 paneled ballet bodice you will be introduced to the skills and finishing that are used within the industry and look at the techniques employed in emphasizing the dancer's physique through an understanding of eye for line and decoration.
