    The course offers an introduction to English male tailoring methods and gives a basic understanding of the history of tailoring from the late 18th century to the present day.

  • Highlights

    We will look at the development of tailoring techniques, period detail and the changing styles through the 19th and early 20th century. Period detail will be covered by looking at suit styles from a range of periods during the 19th century. You will make a male waistcoat and discover the stages of traditional bespoke tailoring through practical demonstrations. You will be able to explore the traditional techniques of using a tailor's square to draft patterns, as well as all the methods used in the cutting and making processes of traditional bespoke tailoring.
