Do you want to do something amazing this summer?
Tenteleni has a limited number of volunteer places left on its projects for this summer, particularly on our projects based in South Africa!
Tenteleni supports overseas, education-based partners in Africa in meeting their aims and objectives through the provision of well-prepared volunteers over the summer period.
Within their placements the volunteers take on a number of roles which are as diverse as the projects themselves, but the basic aim for any Tenteleni volunteer is to bring enthusiasm and energy to placements, engage in cultural exchange and support the educational opportunities of the children and young people in schools, children's homes and non-formal placements.
You might find yourself working as a teaching assistant or youth worker on one of our projects, but you can guarantee that you'll be learning just as much as the pupils! Tenteleni projects are a real opportunity to meet some amazing people and learn about communities, culture, education and development in sub-Saharan Africa, but you stand to learn a lot about yourself too.
We're proud of the fact that Tenteleni is an entirely volunteer run charity. Besides meaning that our project costs are lower than many, it is also testament to the passion and enthusiasm of Tenteleni volunteers past and present.
Come and join us!
Enthusiasm and interest in our projects is essential, but no previous experience of volunteering abroad is needed. We provide training and support, both before departure in the UK and in country.

Tenteleni is an entirely volunteer-run charity that supports UK student and graduate volunteers travelling to placements in sub-Saharan Africa to engage in cultural exchange and skill sharing in a variety of formal and non-formal settings, including schools, communities and children's homes. We aim to form and maintain long and lasting relationships with people and organisations within the placements and the countries we operate in, to ensure a sustainable positive impact.
