Description

We are a bunch of young people who spend their time rescuing the ruins of the castle Tematin. We concentrate on real work directly for the castle and not worth the excessive publicity and the visibility. We do everything to make our work was really well-done. This unique monument is meant to all of us and our only wish is to withstand our "tourist raids" as long as possible.

We work under the supervision of leading experts and every act of the castle is carefully re-assessed and addressed. Implementation work is still under assessment highly specialized expert and is subsequently verified Monuments Board.

We are looking for participants who are interested in a volunteer work at ruins of Tematin castle. Volunteers will participate directly in archaeological research and all castle conservation works. All volunteers will be under supervision of authority.

Typical Volunteer

Typical volunteer at the castle is hardworking, full of humor, someone who likes to sleep under the stars in a sleeping bag and likes to eat food cooked over a fire. Shower is under barrel. All of this is because castle is placed on the top of the mountain 15km from civilization and everything has to be transported by car. Some people call us "crazy". We do not care. The castle needs our help.

OZ Hrad Tematin's Mission Statement

Tematin castle NPO is volunteer based organization dealing with castle conservation in Slovakia. Volunteers are working on archaeological research, clearing site, building touristic resting places near castle, conservation of the walls and a lot of more things. All is done by workshops and work camps under the supervision of authority.
