International TEFL and TESOL Training

The program was great! The instructor was not only adequate, but very impressive and clearly experienced. Course content will be very beneficial for teaching in the future.

The course director and trainers were absolutely invaluable. The location was perfect - not in the party center of Phuket island to be distracted but close enough to have fantastic afternoons and weekends. The course was challenging but every participant passed. They help you immensely with finding a job afterward, and personalized help or guidance is readily available. If you're reading this, just take my advice (I'm a certified English teacher in 48 states already): do it. "Life begins where your comfort zone ends."

I chose to do the TESOL certification course from TEFL International,Phuket and I feel that has been one of my best decisions. It is a 4 weeks long course but time just flew by. To start with, Mark who had been my 1st point of contact while I was making up my mind, had been of immense help. Once I was in Phuket the professionalism, warmth and dedication of everything about the institution has impressed me totally. The teachers (5nos.) are extremely good at their job, they are friendly,organized,professional and strict(about the rules of the course). I think the best thing in the entire course is the hands on teaching experience that we get, it has built a lot of confidence in me. When I entered the TEFL school I had no teaching experience and was pretty apprehensive however as time I gained a lot of confidence. The teachers have gone out of their way to assist us with making our appropriate CVs and also help us find suitable jobs. Now that my course is over am looking forward to finding a good job for myself and perhaps in a year's time will take up an additional course from the same institute to add on to my CV. I am happy to have a great stepping stone to embark on a new career path with the help of the awesome teachers and staff in this course. It was intense, fun and rewarding.

After completing the TESOL course at the Phuket training centre, I feel a world of opportunities have opened up for me. The course was well structured and organised. The tutors at the centre were brilliant and did everything they could to help us develop as professionals.

I had absolutely no idea how intensive the course was when I started it. My first day in school seemed to be quite intimidating and challenging. Intimidating in the sense that I was surrounded by Native English Speakers, which I had never experienced in my 28 years of existence. I could hardly open my mouth to speak in case I made mistakes and embarrassed myself. It was challenging particularly as I failed my first practice lesson so I needed to make an extra effort to read all my notes in order to ensure that I passed the next lessons. That was why it pleased me when I was given a satisfactory result by Simon in my second practice lesson. The succeeding days went well for me although I got depressed quite a number of times worrying about how would I pass all my practice lessons,exams and submit all the other required elements on time. Other course requirements such as journals and games consumed almost all of my time. However, it was a great experience as a whole as it helped me build my confidence and improve my teaching ability as well as my knowledge of the language.

I completed the combined course and was grateful that I had several months to complete the on-line portion. It gave me more depth and breadth of understanding than that which I could have learned during the 4 week course. I have already recommended this course to a number of friends looking to change careers.

The TEFL course has been an amazing experience! This was a great opportunity to broaden my horizon and to see what other opportunities are available. The other students on the course were from all over and we met a lot of amazing people while living here.

I definitely think that the word for this course is *intense*. It takes a lot of work and effort and you really need to pay attention and participate in your classes. However, we had a great teacher who taught with a lot of enthusiasm and humour. The most rewarding part of the course was getting to teach the students and seeing their progress. I would definitely recommend taking the course in Manuel Antonio - the scenery is beautiful and I have made a lot of friends here. Pura vida!

The course in Manuel Antonio was great. Mike Fitzgerald has been a great teacher and made the lessons structured and enjoyable! It has been a fantastic experience and one I would recommend to anyone!

Taking the TEFL course offers an insightful first step into teaching and pedagogy. I have enjoyed every minute of it and highly recomment this course to anyone who is passionate about teaching and willing to study (it is an intensive course after all!). The teachers/ instructors are very competent and friendly; they are clearly passionate about grooming future ESL teachers.

First and foremost, I am really pleased to share my experience on this page. My name is Khun Kyi who has just graduated TEFL/TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from Via Lingua Teacher Training School, in Phuket, Thailand. It is surprised and be proud of myself as I have been the very first one from Myanmar since the participants are especially from US, UK and Australia. It is a good net-working for the future because I have got many international friends from US, UK, Spain, Australia, Hongkong and India. During the course, we had to learn phonology , classroom management, and number of teaching methodologies such as (ESA) Engage Study Activate, Grammar Translation Method, Task Based Learning, Total Physical Response, (PPP) Presentation Practice Procedure, Suggestopaedia ( Music, Comfortable Environment) and Silent Way. Moreover, beneficial for us to observe experienced teachers while they were teaching, and many assignments of lesson planning had to be done in time before teaching Thai students in the evening as a teaching practice while experienced teacher observing. Every after each teaching session, feedbacks were provided to us to improve the teaching skills for the next session. A really challenge for me was to teach Thai students the very first time although I have been teaching English about five years in Taunggyi, Myanmar. It was privilege that Thai language and culture were introduced in the classroom as well. However, this training makes me ready and confident to teach English to speakers of other languages anywhere on the world. What a funny is that when I bought fruits at a fruits store, the shop keeper talked to me in Thai and told me the prize but I didn't understand so I just peeped at the calculator to know. In conclusion, I'd like to say that I have a willing heart to develop Pa-Oh community with my range of knowledge and experiences and of course I keep trying all the best I can from any corner to educate our Pa-Oh people. I bear in mind that this is my born responsibility.

I had such a rewarding time throughout the course and I thought the teachers constructed the program in an effective and encouraging manner which facilitated learning and a love for teaching from start to finish.

I LOVED this program! Very thorough and well run, all the people are awesome and so helpful. It was a truly incredible and life changing experience, I can't wait to get out there and start teaching English professionally! I really had a blast with this course, and I feel prepared and confident to work as an English teacher. I would highly recommend this program to anyone.

It was a great learning experience and all the instructors were very supportive, professional and well prepared. I especially appreciated my tutor's understanding towards my mistakes and the patience with which he guided me whenever I stumbled in planning or teaching. My personal observation was that it is hard working team and very meticulous about doing things the right way. Overall, I walked with a lot from there and got inspired to do a few more courses from TESOL.

Loved the course. The on-line portion was a killer. It wasn't easy and I was extremely pleased about that (in retrospect). The 2 week classwork was intensive, to say the least. I would have preferred an additional week as I felt rushed. It was, however, a fabulous experience and one that I would recommend to anyone looking to change a career or build one.

While I wouldn't call it a complete pleasure, the program was definitely pleasurable. My fellow trainees were bright, good humored and continually raised the level of quality with each lesson. The instruction was full and expansive. The course was academically challenging, while maintaining a fun and interactive atmosphere. The class schedule and hours were followed closely and dependable day-to-day. I feel prepared to teach and continue to learn. I am very grateful to the staff and students who have enabled me to pursue this career.

This course was invaluable in preparing me to become an EFL teacher. I not only got extensive training on classroom strategies and best practice, but I completed six hours of observed teaching practice and received feedback from professional EFL teachers. Self evaluation and reflection is also a major part of this course and is perhaps the most useful tool I am taking away from the training.

Taking this course has been a great experience for me. I have gained a lot of teaching experience, as well as specific teaching tools which I definitely will draw upon in the future. I highly recommend everyone who wants to teach abroad to take this course.

The course was very well planned and provided us with a lot of tips and insight to become great English teachers. It requires drive and focus to get your certificate but it prepares you for what's to come as you enter the teaching world. It was refreshing to have an instructor who has been teaching for many years and could offer us lots of advice for finding a job post-certificate.

TEFL Costa Rica is awesome! I learned so much about teaching English as a foreign language. I would recommend this course to anyone that is interested. Costa Rica was a great place to take the TEFL program. It is definitely a different lifestyle and there were things that took some getting used to, but the location is beautiful. All of the locals are very friendly and there is a lot to do in the area. The TEFL staff of campus were helpful, and although there were challenges they did the best they could to make it a good experience for the students.

While we had a tough ride, it was ultimately worth the trip. The students in Costa Rica were great and eager to learn which made learning to teach very rewarding and fun!

I had an amazing time and I feel that I truly benefited from my time with TEFL in costa rica. The instructors were extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

After a rocky start (extra beach time) the course progressed well with good teachers. The course as a whole is hard work but very fulfilling and worthwhile. Great people, great country, pura vida

I really enjoyed this experience. It is something I never did before and while I was a little scared at first, I couldn't have asked to meet a better group of people. That first day, I heard the word "intense" about 8 times and others said the same thing. It really wasn't that bad. The lessons, while they seemed nerve-wracking at first, they weren't that bad. I greatly enjoyed the students. With any of the TEFL classes, if a homestay is available, take it; it will be a great experience in addition to the TEFL class and the students you meet!

I really enjoyed my TEFL course! Costa Rica is an amazing and beautiful country to study in! The staff here did a wonderful job taking care of things and fixing the occasional snags. The students were fantastic and eager to learn. All in all, I would definitely recommend this course to others interested in TEFL certification.

This course was educational and fun, but there were some difficulties. Arriving and finding out there were no instructors available at the beginning of the course. The administrative staff did an excellent job of finding replacement teachers but we then were rushed through some of the material. Equipment within the facility was not the greatest, a number of times it went down when we needed it the most. The staff again tried to facilitate our planning and organizing the materials but sometimes it was a rush. Overall I would recommend this course and sight to anyone that asked me, but I would give them a heads up that they might need to bring extra supplies and patience themselves just to make sure.

Taking this course was an amazing experience for me. I really enjoyed living in Costa Rica while I took the course. I would highly recommend TEFL International to anyone who thinks they might want to be a teacher. The teaching practices gave me a lot more confidence about being a good teacher as well as the knowledge I need to teach English as a second language.

TEFL rocks! So glad I chose to do this program. TEFL has prepared me with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the International teaching scene. The management and teachers were more than helpful in gearing me in a future of English education abroad. I will never forget my time here with TEFL and hope to make TEFL proud of my success down the road!

Great course, learned a lot!

As someone who was teaching English in Costa Rica before and after I took the course, I can say that I was using techniques I learned almost immediately. A great program which gives a solid grounding in teaching. I got way more than my money's worth and would recommend it to anyone interested in teaching English.

This has been a wonderful, though very eventful, course. When we experienced an unforeseen situation regarding the number of staff on site, the remaining admins/trainers really stood in the gap for us and gave so much of their own personal time and energy. They have been fantastic to work with and learn from. We have also had adventures due to the strange weather this month. Once, during a week of intense rain, we had a mudslide cover the road to Quepos with three car-sized boulders, which was a small inconvenience but a great photo op! As for the TEFL coursework, I thought the instruction and guided teaching practice was excellent. Last Spring, I received my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, and here at TEFL I have seen all the major aspects of teaching covered in four weeks that took me several years to learn in the university. As someone who already held a teaching certificate while taking this course, I have also learned and improved on my teaching skills and content knowledge. I now feel prepared to go teach English anywhere in the world, and have met wonderful people who are coming from and going to all ends of the earth as well. I recommend this course to anyone who is interested in living and working in a foreign country, and has a healthy sense of adventure. :)

This course taught me a lot about what to expect while teaching overseas. This course was challenging and I learned so much! It was definitely worth it!

The experience I had at TEFL International Costa Rica was absolutely amazing. The staff here was exceptional, and really knows how to handle any situation they are thrown into. Heidi, the lead teacher trainer (who unfortunately is moving to Madagascar!) was not only one of the best teachers I have ever had, but she also made learning grammar fun... a feat I think no teacher has ever been able to do before. Drew, the assistant teacher trainer, simply rocked. He always had such a positive attitude and really would do ANYTHING to help us out. He is a great teacher and I learned so much from him about teaching in and managing a classroom. Tiffani, the course administrator, was always willing to help in any given situation and was readily available when any of the students had questions about anything. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who seriously wants to teach English abroad at any time in their lives. This course is by no means easy- it is difficult and challenging, but not in a discouraging way. Throughout the whole process you know that you are learning more and gaining more useful knowledge and experience to use when teaching English in the future. Not only have I learned a great deal about techniques and styles to use when teaching English, but I have also learned a lot about myself. This has truly been a once in a lifetime experience and I wouldn't trade it for anything. The only thing that was kind of lame was that the school administrator/director was not present. While the program was still able to run in his absence, Drew- one of our course trainers- ended up having to pick up the slack and do a lot of stuff he shouldn't have had to do. Although it didn't affect my experience because Drew and Tiffani did an amazing job filling in.

TEFL international was an awesome experience. The teachers are really dedicated to ESL and to making us into effective teachers. Although there can be problems with electricity and internet because it's Costa Rica, Drew was always willing to go the extra mile to help us get everything we needed to get done, done. I would totally recommend the program to anyone interested in getting a TESOL certificate. It is a great way to get the certificate while experiencing another culture and country. My only complaint which is not really a complaint because it didn't affect me was that I never saw the school admin and it seemed like Tiffany and Drew were basically doing a lot of his job. This didn't really affect me because Tiffany and Drew did a great job filling in but it was a little weird. Overall this was one of the best experiences of my life and I learned so much about teaching in such a short time.

Had a fantastic time. The course was nice and easy to follow and the teaching practice was invaluable. Certainly everything I had hoped for And Chris of course is a gem of a person. Thanks for everything Chris.

The course were great but include a lot of flexibility. The first two weeks were great because we had a great teacher with a lot of experiences. Unfortunately, we had then young teachers who didn't have this experience what I expected and this wasn't always easy or me to manage. Moreover we had a lot of troubles with the copier, printer and internet. At least the staff did what they were able to do. For myself as European it was too much US English teaching and not the whole world use US English!

What a fantastic program! I had a wonderful experience. It is a full immersion course with lots of teaching experience.Be prepared to work! Our students were wonderful and eager to learn, and the staff was professional. I would recommend the program to anyone who is interested in learning a dynamic way to teach!

TEFL what a life changing experience I am so glad I made the split decision to do this course I was so worried that I could not do something like this being a 21 year old Bricklayer from Australia it just goes to show that if you put your mind to something and stop doubting yourself anything is possible. I meet so many people and made heaps of new friends this course has open so many doors for me as a young aspiring traveler..............why live a boring life when you don't have to?

I have learned a lot about lesson planning with the ESA methodology. The course has provided me with extensive resources to motivate students to learn English. Now I am confident that I can plan and teach any English class at short notice. The review of grammar, tenses, and phonetics was comprehensive and served to brush up my knowledge from the past. The instructors seem excited to teach and their infectious enthusiasm has motivated me to succeed.

I have never crammed so much brilliant information into my brain in such a short amount of time! My head was spinning and it was unbelievably fantastic. TEFL took me from being a nervous rookie teacher, to a confident, well prepared educator. The program was extremely comprehensive and touched on every point of being in the classroom. Heidi and Drew provided tremendous support, and gave us the tools we need to go out in the world and provide the power of the English language. On top of accomplishing the goal of becoming certified, I made friends I will keep in touch with for the rest of my life and got to spend a month in paradise. What could be better? Thank you for everything TEFL. Now, let's go travel the world!

I have dreamed for years about studying and teaching abroad, but have never had the chance to travel. I found myself suddenly with no work or school for the summer, and no reason to stay home... so I contacted TEFL International and signed up within a week. Six weeks later I was in Quepos, Costa Rica!! I took advantage of the Spanish Immersion program in addition to TEFL and couldn't be deeply moved by my experience. The program was intense, but we pulled together as a class, as peers, and as family and after many long, long days, we finished... receiving our TEFL certification and experiencing a lot of life along the way. Drew and Heidi, our teacher-trainers are awesome! They are positive, supportive and encouraging through every tiny little step of the process. Who knew grammar could be so exciting! :-) I will always be thankful that I reached out for this particular dream at this time in my life. It was a stunning experience. The people in the communities of Quepos and Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica are wonderful and along with their beautiful country, have stolen my heart.

This course was incredibly intense and incredibly rewarding! After a month, I feel equipped to teach English. The teachers were absolutely phenomenal and put a lot of time into making sure we were successful.

My experience with TEFL International Costa Rica was absolutely amazing! The trainers are awesome and you couldn't ask for better students to practice teaching with! I really learned how to have fun in the classroom and I fell in love with teaching and learning. I can't wait to start my first teaching job!!!

I am so pleased I decided to do this course! Although it was intense, I learnt so much not only about teaching English, but the importance of understanding the culture, students needs and difficulties. I found that I became more interested in the students needs and motivations each lesson, so tried even harder to ensure my lessons were relevant and fun. It was such a good feeling when the students learnt AND enjoyed my lesson. Not only did I enjoy teaching, but I feel that the course will allow me to continue my love of travelling and enable me to get to know the local people too in the countries I travel to through teaching English.

It was great, aside from the serious issues with lack of information regarding the amenities provided when you are living on campus. I loved the course and the instruction was top notch from Heidi, but unfortunately when I spoke to the instructors/administration about the issues that we have had while living here on campus I was basically told "tough luck pal." It's a shame to see such apathy when there are legitimate concerns involved. Double check everything before you sign the "no refunds" form in the first week.

I really enjoyed my experience at TEFL. Costa Rica is beautiful, and the TEFL school is awesome and in a great location. The instructors were excellent, and very helpful with any questions or needs you may have. I learned a lot about teaching, and am continuing on to Spain to teach English in Madrid. I would sugget the TEFL course (especially the one in Costa Rica) to anyone looking to teach abroad. I appreciate everything TEFL has done for me and will miss it when I leave!

The TEFL program was great. In the beginning it seems almost impossible to think about what is about to happen, but once you begin teaching you see how everything goes together, and the students really do learn. It was an overall amazing time with a wonderful setting and incredibly intelligent teachers. ¡Muchisimas Gracias a todos!

My experience with TEFL International certification course in Manuel Antonio was excellent. The level of learning and quality of instructors was higher than imagined. The instructors were very professional and ended having a great group for classmates. The course definitely prepares you to teach at a competitive level and gives you the knowledge needed to teach overseas. I would definitely suggest the four weeks course to anyone who is interested in teaching internationally.

After completing the intensive month-long course in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica, I feel prepared and confident as a foreign language teacher to effectively teach the English language in any country in a setting. The support that I received at TEFL Costa Rica through the administration and instructors was always positive. The highly-qualified instructors were beyond helpful. I was surprising impressed with the quality of education that I received at TEFL, Costa Rica. My knowledge increase exponentially during this month; it was challenging and overwhelming at times, however, the experience and knowledge gained positively affected my life and is something that will take me far in life. The support, resources, and networking that I found during the job search, was unbelievable. I accepted a teaching position in Costa Rica during week 3, and will begin teaching within 3 days of graduation. Moving to Costa Rica and attending TEFL Manuel Antonio, was honestly the best self-investment I have made thus far. I would recommend this program to anyone that wants to live near beautiful, rainforest beaches of Costa Rica and begin a career of international education. Once you complete this course, the doors of opportunity that open abroad are endless.

The TEFL course in Zhuhai was an interesting and valuable experience that gave me a good insight into people's life in Guangdong as well as a broad immersion into a variety of schools in China. The teaching materials and the instructors were inspirational and provided creative and helpful guidance. It was a rewarding challange as much as it was a memorable "educational holiday".

I took the TESOL certification class in Zhuhai, China. Brad, Jenny, and Mei-Ling all did a terrific job teaching the course. We worked long and hard every day. They keep the students involved and interested by introducing new methods of instruction that pretty much none of us had ever seen before. The video taped demos they did for us helped us understand how to put effective lesson plans together. Then they helped us prepare for our own teaching practices and provided insightful feedback after completing them. I would recommend this class to anyone wanting to teach English overseas.

It was a tough month at times but generally good fun and very rewarding once completed. The best part for me was Jenny,one of my tutors,she's got a great sense of humour coupled with a strong personality and to top it off she's gorgeous,the down part is she's married but worth going to do your TESOL there in Zhuhai so you can spend some time with her.

My experience here was really great. I learned a lot and the teachers are great. I think you should send Heidi some strong vitamins so she doesn't get sick any more. She really holds that place together. Maybe give the trainies a couple of chances to come up with their lesson on their own. I like that we have to get an approval and I like the advice that they give, but I think to truly prepare us give us a chance to make our own lesson and teach it. I understand that we may crash and burn but that's when we learn best. Overall, I really enjoyed the course. It was thorough and concise. Thanks.

I thoroughly enjoyed taking the course in Zhuhai, China. I discovered how special southern China is with its friendly people and southern charms. This course is located inside a popular English emersion language school called GLV (Gateway Language Village) where only English is spoken. Be prepared to say "Hello" and speak to everyone! After leaving the school building area a person can speak and practice Mandarin Chinese with locals. During the course I took a job, but I was able to return 10 months later to complete it. This gave me extra perspective and insight into the course. The instructors and staff were very professional and were available to help the trainees with problems and questions. The teaching practice experience was one of the most valuable parts of the course. With lesson plan and teaching model preparation, we were able to teach different ages of Chinese students in real school environments located around the Zhuhai area. This is an intensive course, so prepare yourself to work hard and have the experience of your life. You will meet incredibly friendly people, so keep an open mind about your new culture and friends. Have fun! Zaijian!

The TEFL 120 hour course is extremely challenging, and a lot of hard work, especially if you have not done any formal study for a long time (I hadn't!). But the trainers were very supportive, as were the rest of the class. The teaching methods learned are invaluable if you want to teach english in China, or any non-english speaking country. The fact that we got to practice teaching in real school environments was probably what made the TEFL International course so rewarding. I highly recommend it.

An excellent TEFL programme with superb teaching staff. The Quepos course has equipped me with a sound understanding of grammar, phonology and TEFL teaching practice which I intend to utilise in the future. The staff are dedicated and skilled professionals and their enthusiasm for teaching and learning is readily transmitted to their students. The students are a lively and enjoyable group who will teach you a great deal about foreign language students. I am very glad I chose to take a TEFL course.

TEFL Costa Rica was a wonderful learning experience for me in my growth as a ESL/EFL teacher. I cannot say enough good things about the teachers here. They are well-qualified, helpful, inspirational and caring. The students here are also very genuine. If you are looking to teach in Latin America, this course in particular will give you the true experience of teaching abroad in a small Latin American town.

This program was far more thorough than I ever anticipated it to be, and I am so thankful that I went through with it. It really gave me the confidence that I needed in approaching second language teaching. Before I arrived in Costa Rica, I wasn't sure that this was a certification that I would use-I just knew that it would open some doors in terms of job opportunities. Now that I am one day away from completing the course, I can confidently say that not only is this certification something I will use indefinitely, the course as a whole enlightened me to the fact that I can teach and I absolutely love it! I had wanted to do this course since 2003 when I was studying abroad in Prague and realized the amount of opportunities to travel through teaching ESL. Seven years later, I still wanted to do the course, but wasn't convinced I needed my TESOL certificate to teach. After my first day on the course, I realized how valuable this course was going to be and how wrong I was in thinking I could teach without it. It was one of the most demanding classes I ever took, but the instructors did everything in their power to keep the content enjoyable. I would recommend this class to anyone interested in teaching ESL. The "hands on" experience we gained during the teaching practices in Chinese schools were so helpful. In one month, we all transformed into teachers and best of all, made some great friends from all over the world.

The TEFL/TESOL Certificate program was really intensive, the work material was challenging but it helped the trainees to work under pressure, which is something that teachers could encounter one way or another. There were tests and quizzes given that truly tests the knowledge of each trainee. Overall, the way the course is run, it's very effective and very productive.

Participating in this course was one of the most amazing experiences I have had in my life. The course was intensive and a lot of hard work but the dedicated teachers were there to help at all times. I am a 52 year old mum with no teaching experience, but now I am confident and capable teaching esl to any age group. There was a special bond made between class mates that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Our class consisted of people from all walks of life from all over the world and ranged in age between 21 to 60 years of age, so dont think about it anymore just do it, you wont regret it.

i found the course very challenging but very rewarding, the course staff were brilliant and so helpful throughout the duration of the course it was an excellent opportunity to meet people from so many countries and become life-long friends and see some of China and meet its people.

The immersion into the Chinese culture coupled with the intensive four week course made for a very exciting experience. The instructors were very professional and used modern teaching methods to get their curriculum across while remaining extremely approachable and friendly to the participants. The in-class teaching experience was the most valuable part of the course. I learned how to teach all ages of Chinese students and also learned how nice and respectful the Chinese are. This has to be the best way to be certified in TESOL!

Getting my TESOL Certification in Kathmandu was a rewarding and fun experience. The city itself provided a rich cultural experience, and I was able to travel outside the city on weekends (which I highly recommend to anyone who goes). I even stayed in Nepal after the course to travel more. When the course finished, I went directly to Russia as an ESL teacher. The teachers in Kathmandu really helped me to freshen up on my grammar. The course also helped me to gain confidence in front of a classroom. I've used a lot of the activities I learned there in my classes here.

TEFL's focus on practical teaching (in front of real students) is its strongest card. By the time you graduate, you'll be a seasoned teacher which i precisely what you should to be. Being an english speaker is nowhere near enough. Part of my first interviews was to solve some tricky classroom situations. I'm pleased to say I was equipped to deal with this challenge, as I was during my first real class.

Kathmandu is a great destination to do a TESOL certificate. The combination of theory as well as many practical lessons where you get to teach in real schools makes the course unbeatable. I gained a lot of confidence and was well prepared to teach at the end of the course. Also, the cultural insights and sightseeing can't be left unsaid. What an amazing time!

I had an intense 28 days of training. The students I attended class with were very serious about becoming good teachers. The level of expectations upon ourselves was influenced by this and the professionalism allowed us in facilitating our develepment.

Hi, I found the course very intense and professionally run. In fact, I was a little surprised at the very high standard of teaching, with the consequential high standards set for us pupils. The quality of teaching was excellent. It took me out of whatever 'comfort zone' I had left, but then it needed to if I was to complete the course satisfactorily. A very worthwhile and stimulating course in a great location (Phuket) that will provide a springboard into English language teaching in many countries I am sure.

Hello, My name is Luke and I did the Tesol course in January 2010. I found the course usefull in helping me to get a better idea of what it is like to be an English teacher in China and what schools in China expect from a native speaking English teacher. It also gave me the vital skills needed to teach English which includes learning how to plan a lesson and having a good foundational understanding of English grammer, that I personally never had before. I stayed in the apartment that Tesol offered which was clean, modern and comfortable. It had three rooms. Two rooms had one person in each and one of them was a shared room for 2 people (the one I was in) It was located close to a subway station and if you like walking, it is about a 30-40 min walk from the Tesol school. You will have to buy your own sheets and if you are going to be doing the course in winter, you will also need to buy your own quilt. Restaurants are very close to the apartment as well as a large supermarket, so finding isn't a problem.

I found the course intensive but ultimately rewarding. It was definately good preparation for teaching in that the research and creativity required to come up with lesson plans daily, sets you up for the challenges ahead. My advice would be to buy a good Grammer book beforehand, ask as many questions as possible, and don't expect an easy ride. The teaching was carried out in a fun yet practical way and Beijing is a fascinating city to travel around on the weekends (if you have the time!)

I took part in the 4 week teacher training course with TEFL international teaching centre Beijing. I found the course extremely enjoyable and rewarding. I would recommend the course to anyone as I only have positive things to say with regards to the course. The course leaders were extremely helpful and were able to guide and assist me through the teacher training. By the end of the course I was confident enough in my ability and the skills I had learned, to go ahead and start teaching. Highly recommended.

At 64, I´m old for a TEFL Costa Rica participant but I had a fabulous experience surrounded by very diverse but incredibly compatible and supportive young people. I have taught most of my life, preschool through college, in public and private (Waldorf) schools and was tremendously impressed with the superb teaching I experienced here. Everyone in the class completed every assignment conscientiously and taught competently during the practice teaching lessons. We learned salsa, loved the beach, and enjoyed getting to know one another.

In my opinion, the course is great for those who are looking to enhance their understanding of English grammar and to build confidence in performing in front of a class. I definitely recommend this course for those who have no prior teaching experience. The first half of the course is to teach you about grammar and the other half is to illustrate TEFL's effective method of teaching. In turn, the course will prepare you to teach students in China. In addition, the course is taught in English. You will also receive teachings from professional teachers from all corners of the world. I had two great teachers who taught me the syntax of English grammar. With their help, I am now able to confidently teach my students proper English. Besides the aspect of learning grammar, the teaching practices that you will participate in are equally important to your learning. You will be in a peer-reviewed environment and your peers will grade you and provide feedback for further improvement. This portion of the course was what I looked forward to. I learned how to manage a class, how to be a controller, how to encourage students, and many more. All the teachers and assistants in the Beijing course are excellent people who are determined to help you pass the course and enjoy a lifetime experience.

Friendly teachers which were great support throughout the course. They provided plenty of helpful information which gave me a huge boost to start y teaching career. Great location close to beaches, resturants, pretty much everything is at your door step!!

The course in Phuket was led by a team of enthusiastic instructors who motivated and encouraged us. We were given feedback promptly when constructing lesson plans, as well as after teaching our lessons. A great classroom set up created a positive environment for the students, and the air conditioning in each classroom was welcomed by us all! The course itself was broken down very well into bitesize chunks for us to get a real feel about the content of the course. Many of us found the course quite hard work, but it was thanks to the guidance and feedback from our instructors that we got a true grasp of what being a TEFL teacher is all about.

The TEFL Certificate Program was extremely well organized. The instructors were competent and personable. They did an excellent job preparing the trainees for practice teaching and gave them detailed feedback. All the trainees in our program seemed to enjoy the entire course and especially appreciated the constructive comments they were given by the instructors. The atmosphere at the school was friendly, but professional. The course was challenging for those with years of teaching experience, yet manageable for those with no teaching experience. All the members of our course felt they had been successful. It seemed to be a meaningful experience for all.

In recently completing the TESOL certificate i found i am ready to travel everywhere. This certificate provided me with the skills, experience and confidence needed to travel and teach English. My experiences on this course have been amazing from meeting new people to working with the qualified teachers in my lesson planning. I had a very good experience with TEFL International in Phuket, Thailand. The course was presented in a very professional yet personable manner. All of the instructors were friendly and knowledgeable and always willing to help out in whatever ways they could. The students I practiced my teacher training with were wonderful and very excited and willing to learn. My accommodation was very clean and comfortable. I feel that without my training at TEFL International I would not be prepared to work as an ESL instructor overseas. This course has been a very good investment.

My decision to enroll for a TEFL Course at Phuket was, perhaps, one of the best decisions that I could've taken. Whatever little initial anxiety I had, simply evaporated the moment I was welcomed at the airport by a smiling and friendly Pete - the Academic Director of the TEFL Course. From there on, till the very last day, everything was a wonderful experience. The TEFL course was an eye-opener for me. I'd been teaching English for 9 years prior to this course, but this was totally different from the conventional method that I'd been following so far. Our teachers did a wonderful job. Though the lessons were intense, instructive and packed with a lot of information, they were sprinkled with a lot of fun and humor which made everything so much easier to digest, remember and put into practice (during our individual teaching practice lessons). Our initial induction (I mustn't forget the 'welcome dinner'), the accommodation and the facilities provided, the friendly staff, the 'job hunting' help that we were given at the end of the course, the beautiful little island itself with the friendly natives, - everything was just great. Overall, the entire package was worthwhile. I loved every moment of it and would easily recommend it to all those who wish to make teaching English their career, who are bitten by the travel bug, who love adventure and who want to learn about different cultures.

If there is one thing that this course has taught me is that English can be so much fun to teach and even more when the students are so motivated to learn is an amazing experience. Thailand specifically was a great place to learn because the smiles here last make a classroom glow.

This was a fantastic course, very well organised and planned. The instructors were all very professional and dedicated in helping all the students achieve success. They made the difficult elements of the course seem easy, they were always willing to do that extra to ensure that all students understood what was required. The teaching elements of the course were well planned and the trainers were very helpful to all the students and ensured that the students were able to teach TEFL lessons with success. Lesson planning was meticulous and thorough, with great evaluation from the trainers that was pertinent to the student teachers needs. As an experienced classroom teacher of 56 looking for a new direction this was a wonderful experience and really challenged me. To do essays and a 3 hour grammar exam after not doing these things for 30 years was challenging , but really satisfying after completing. Gave me a real buzz to achieve things I thought would be impossible at my age. I would recommend this course to everyone. This was one of the best decisions of my life to leap into the unknown and take this TEFL course.

An intensive but very enjoyable course. Course content was wide ranging but at the sametime specific to what you will need to be able to become a successful teacher. Materials were good and the trainers were friendly, approachable and professional at all times. In my opinion the course is a must for any budding ESL teacher.

The TEFL program in Phuket was excellent for me. All of the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I was very impressed by their experience and knowledge with both TEFL and general teaching practices. I had been a special education teacher before taking the course and this helped a bit. However, the course went above and beyond in preparing me for the much different task of EFL teaching. The courseload is definitely heavy at times (this is a positive as far as I'm concerned) so I would warn not to come in thinking you can breeze through the month. There are plenty of opportunities to check out Phuket and I would reccomend doing so (Especially in the beginning when workload is a bit lighter). I would definitely recommend this course. Remember that Thailand is a 3rd world country so don't come here expecting the same accomodations you have back home. No expectations are the best expectations!

TEFL International Phuket is a great program. I had done quite a bit of research but nothing really prepares you for actually coming and living here. I just received my certificate yesterday and I can honestly say that I feel ready to go out and teach English. The staff here is genuine and care about what they are doing. They want you to do well and will work with you on anything that you need help with. One of my biggest worries was not having a good grip on grammar before coming here. Don't worry. They go over all that and I, unlike before, could now tell you the correct tense and usage for almost any sentence you put in front of me. Some advice: it is all about your attitude here. It is an intense month. In 30 days, they have to prepare you to teach English. You will be busy, but if you have an open mind and positive outlook, you'll do wonderful. Don't have too many expectations and just be willing to accept the experiences that come. If you're open to it, you will meet amazing people, get a glimpse into a beautiful country and culture and learn even more about yourself. I am so glad that I came here and I would reccommend this program to anyone. Peace and good luck in your journey.

I taught in Korea for the past two years and decided to get a TESOL certificate so I can be more employable for future teaching positions. This course was great! The course material focused on methodology useful for teaching students in any classroom setting. Weekly in-class teaching provided useful training to put the methodology to work. Our instructors maintained a very professional air while being friendly and approachable at the same time. I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested in becoming a teacher of ESL!!

The course was great, we learned more than just grammar, we learnt how to be teachers. Within two days of starting you are teaching, the learning curve is steep, bet well worth it! Phuket is a cool place to study, lots to see and do including some great bars and scenic beaches. The staff are very frindly and make sure you learn as much as possible. Very worth your while!

I just finished the CERT of TESOL here in Phuket am really happy with the course. I've been teaching English for some time already (in Tokyo) and feel that maybe it's time to move on to another place. I knew it'd be difficult to find similar well paid work in other countries without some form of qualification so I shopped around on the net and settled on the Phuket TEFLInternational course, partly for the location and partly for the good rap it got on various noticeboards. I'm happy to say the course fulfilled all my expectations and I would recommend it to anyone else wanting to get a thorough grounding in teaching techniques, grammar, phonetics and the various associated themes and topics. It was really really challenging, but I genuinely wanted to learn about grammar and phonetics and enjoyed the challenge. The school staff offer great support and are good fun to boot. The accommodation is ok by Thai standards and of course, doing it in Phuket means weekends offer some great R&R locations! All in all, a worthwhile experience in terms of learning as well as the unexpexted bonus of unexpected new long-term friendships!

The TESOL has been thouroughly enjoyable and rewarding. The four-week course provides the opportunity to teach willing Thai students in a beautiful location. The input and support is fantastic and upon recieving my certificate, I feel confident and ready to teach ESL. I recommmend it to anyone!

Prior to my arrival in Phuket I had no teaching experience so the system operated gave me an opportunity to hone my skills and build my confidence in the classroom. I am amazed at how much I learned in my four weeks in Costa Rica! The classes were well structured and interesting, which made the volume of information more digestible. The preparation for praticum was awesome, and I think it was good to have us jump straight in- the only real way to learn. I feel much more confident with 5 or 6 classes under my belt, and look forward to teaching my own class! I signed up for this course not knowing what to expect, when I got here I found a very helpful staff passionate about teaching. As a TEFL student I was trained how to effectively teach English to non native speakers. The students we taught were great and always eager to learn. This has definately been a new and fun experience for me!

This course provided more experience than I could have hoped for. TEFL Costa Rica was eye opening. The structure of the lessons were beyond thorough. The hands-on training we received with local students was inspiring. Most of all the teacher trainer in Manuel Antonio that worked with us and the staff at the school were extremely qualified educators, and more importantly just really good people.

TESOL Costa Rica was a great time with some really great teachers. I learned a lot from everyone and got to meet some great students. The class can be a lot of work in the final two weeks but if you manage your time well you can fully enjoy your time here in Costa Rica. It really is a great time and you learn a lot.

When they said this course was intensive, I said to myself, "how bad can it really be?"... NOW I know!!! No but seriously, I really value this experience. The work was all part of molding us into the excellent TEFL teachers that we would eventually become. My course administrators were the BEST ever, really. They were always there to help us out and make the process a little easier. I cannot wait to go out and share the knowledge I have gained through this entire experience!!!

It was an amazing experience. The students that join this program are one of a kind. Not going to lie, it was a lot of work but the rewards received are well worth it. In 4 weeks I have learned more about myself and the world around me. Taking the course gives you a different perspective on life or adds to the others you may have. If you are interested in helping create a positive impact on the world or simply doing something different with your life, it is an amazing way to go. The TEFL International Manuel Antonio was a great 4 week intense course. The Staff was very professional and extremely helpful. Coming into the program I could not imagine the amount of work it took in order to teach a 50 min class or the great satisfaction one receives from giving lessons to locals. I strongly recommend the course to anyone who is serious about teaching English as a second language. As far as, Manuel Antonio and Quepos are great little towns not to far from one another. It's a great place to hang out relax and explore Manuel Antonio National Park.

After completing the intensive month-long course in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica, I feel prepared and confident as a foreign language teacher to effectively teach the English language in any country in a setting. The support that I received at TEFL Costa Rica through the administration and instructors was always positive. The highly-qualified instructors were beyond helpful. I was surprising impressed with the quality of education that I received at TEFL, Costa Rica. My knowledge increase exponentially during this month; it was challenging and overwhelming at times, however, the experience and knowledge gained positively affected my life and is something that will take me far in life. The support, resources, and networking that I found during the job search, was unbelievable. I accepted a teaching position in Costa Rica during week 3, and will begin teaching within 3 days of graduation. Moving to Costa Rica and attending TEFL Manuel Antonio, was honestly the best self-investment I have made thus far. I would recommend this program to anyone that wants to live near beautiful, rainforest beaches of Costa Rica and begin a career of international education. Once you complete this course, the doors of opportunity that open abroad are endless.
