Location
Mexico: Mexico City (Ciudad de Mexico)
There is a lot to do and see in Mexico City! Teaching House organizes a regular social program every day which includes Mexican cooking classes, dancing classes, socializing with Mexican students, etc. There are also a lot of different excursions to museums and, of course, the pyramids.
This is one of the largest and strongest groups of CELTA trainers assembled, and they work hard to develop the CELTA brand. Teaching House runs around 30 courses a year.
Teaching House has developed a very strong CELTA course and produced virtually every conceivable document, assignment, input session handout and teaching practice point that we could think of.
Intensive Course (4 weeks):
The 4-week course is very intensive and requires full-time commitment. In addition to class time, you can expect to spend a part of most evenings and at least one day over the weekend working independently on lesson planning and course assignments. Cambridge ESOL recommends dedicating a minimum of 20-25 hours a week outside of the course to this work. 100% attendance is required. Employment during the course and very long commutes are strongly discouraged. A clear schedule for four weeks is the best approach to take.
* Recognized diploma: administered by the prestigious University of Cambridge, the CELTA course is considered by many to be the benchmark English language teaching certification and the only qualification that many language schools accept!
* Teaching practice: each trainee teacher will teach different students from all over the world. Classes vary in size but usually have 12-14 students in them who are all adult learners, and vary in age from 18 to 60. You'll teach classes at two or three different levels, including a lower level and a higher level.
* Job-finding assistance: after the courses, Teaching House helps each trainee to find a suitable ESL job in the country of their choosing.
* Mexico: Huge, sunny and colorful perfectly describe Mexico. Imagine studying, playing, and sun bathing in beautiful Mexico. With CELTA you can!
* Very clear prices: no additional fees or taxes added, no surprise!
Applicants should have either a GED or a high-school diploma.
The total cost of both the CELTA training course is USD 1,795. There are no additional fees or taxes added.
In order for you to teach, however, you need students. To fill this need, we recruit students whose native language is not English; and we offer them free ESL classes. The students you'll be teaching are people who have immigrated here, who are currently living and working here, or who are simply visiting, traveling, and want to get some formal language instruction while they're here. In this way, hours of teaching aren’t paid.
