Description

The School

We are located in the heart of Santiago, Chile. Our students will complete a four week training course held onsite. The course includes modules on speaking, listening, and grammar. You will complete course and practicum components to your course.

TEFL Chile is located in the municipality of Providencia in the Santiago Metropolitan Region. Take a walk around the neighborhood and you will find some of Santiago's top restaurants, coffee shops, theaters, banks, gyms, and the River Mapocho with a number of parks and running/bike paths. Jump on the convenient metro train to explore other areas like Mount San Cristobal Park which contains the Santiago Zoo, Japanese gardens, more running/bike paths and pools. Or hop across the river to the west and snag some deals on lapis lazuli. Looking to check out the thriving art scene in Santiago? Head to nearby Bellavista neighborhood to enjoy the bohemian style and creativity of Chile's local artists, from craft vendors to upscale galleries.

Housing

Santiago has an abundance of housing options to fit your budget. Hostels are located throughout the city, ranging from USD 10 - USD 20 a night. Hotels and guest houses can also be rented by the night from USD 20 and up.

Short-term apartment rentals are also an option for those studying in Santiago and can range in price depending on number of roommates, amenities and neighborhood.

Transportation

Santiago is home to Aeropuerto Internacional Arturo Merino Benitez, also known as Pudahuel, which is a hub for both domestic and international flights. Once in country, there are a variety of bus services ranging from basic to luxurious for any budget to travel around the region.

Santiago itself has a very modern transport infrastructure, including the steadily growing underground Santiago Metro, South America's most extensive metro system. In addition to the Metro, there are also local bus systems run through Transantiago, as well as a commuter rail, Metrotren, which serves suburban rail service to and from the city.

Climate

Santiago experienes a cool Mediterranean climate, with hot dry summers November to March and cold humid winters from June to August.
