Teach Away is now accepting applications for very exciting volunteer teaching positions in Chile! Volunteers in the program will teach English in Chilean public schools, stay with a local Chilean family, and experience all that Chile has to offer!
Program Details
*Where? All across Chile
*When? Start dates in March and April 2012
*For how long? 4 months or 8 months
*What will I be teaching? English to elementary, middle, or secondary school students
*What is the schedule like? 25 hours/week in class, 10 hours/week leading extracurricular activities
Program Benefits include:
* Participants will receive 60,000 Chilean pesos/month as a bonus
* Health insurance is provided
* Airport transfer to the training accommodations and round-trip transportation from Santiago to regional placement sites are provided
* Orientation in Santiago
* Accommodations with local host family, including 3 meals per day
To qualify, candidates must:
* Be a native or near-native English speaker
* Be between the ages of 21 and 35
* Have completed a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
* Be mentally and physically capable of teaching children
* Have experience living or travelling abroad
* Have an interest in Chilean culture
* Be highly committed, responsible, and flexible
* Have access to sufficient funds in order to cover any additional personal expenditures throughout the duration of the program

* Flight booking by Teach Away's in-house travel agent
* Lifetime international job placement assistance upon completion of program
* TESS (Teaching English to Spanish Speakers) certification
- The TESS certificate is an introductory TESOL course designed specifically for teachers working with native Spanish-speakers
* Assistance with the application process
* Assistance with obtaining Temporary Residency Visa and Chilean ID card
* Comprehensive online pre-departure orientation session
* Guidance and continued support from your Teach Away Placement Coordinator
Upon Arrival
* Airport pick-up at Aeropuerto de Santiago de Chile
* All-expense paid orientation in Santiago run by the Chilean Ministry of Education
* Transportation from Santiago to regional placement sites

* A monthly stipend of 60,000 Chilean pesos; paid as a completion bonus
