A very well respected group of international schools is looking for a Science teacher for their school in Suzhou, in economically thriving China for an August 2012 start date. The company currently operates 35 schools and together, these schools provide quality international education to over 3000 children from fifty four different nationalities

The school are seeking flexible, innovative and highly motivated international teaching staff to join their team. These posts are for the coming academic year when they are expanding their school in to the Senior Years programme. The school has students from 2-17 years of age, and is fully authorised in the International Baccalaureate Primary and expects to have Middle Years authorisation in May 2011.

- Teachers should have a recognized teaching qualification in Science and at least 2 years of post qualification experience.
- This school offer a highly competitive salary ranging from £2000 per month upwards depending on experience.

Housing and flights are also provided.

Staff usually come from countries such as Australia, New Zealand and the UK (the Principal is from New Zealand and the Deputy from Australia). IB experience is preferred but they do train their staff so this is not essential and there is good professional development available. Two plus years experience post qualification is ideal though they will look at good teachers with less. There is a good social life between staff and they often meet up for dinners, drinks or even weekends away together. The atmosphere at the school is friendly, warm (even if the building itself is not warm take a big jacket!) and supportive.

This international school was set up in 2003 in the Suzhou New District. From the new school year 2008/09 the school relocated to a brand new, purpose-built campus in the Suzhou Science and Technology Town, with a land area of approximately 3 hectares and a built-in area of 13,800 square metres, including excellent sports facilities such as an indoor heated swimming pool, spacious classrooms, excellent art, science and music facilities, large auditorium, gymnasium, basketball courts, tennis court and a synthetic grass sports field. It offers classes from pre-school to middle school.

Suzhou is a charming city that is situated 80 kilometers west of Shanghai (22 minutes by fast train). It was recently voted as the second most "liveable" city in China for expatriates. Known as the "Venice of the Orient" it is an ancient city that is steeped in History and culture. However, it has also embraced the spirit of the new China and enjoys all the infrastructure and amenities that are required to make ones life in the 21st Century very pleasant indeed.
