    SINGAPORE

    Pre Nursery teachers needed in Singapore. Applicants must be Early Childhood trained and hold a Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education. This position would suit a single applicant without dependents unless the spouse has a transportable job or is happy to not work. The goal at this school is to provide a thoughtfully considered and aesthetically beautiful learning environment, designed to stimulate the learning and development of young children 18 months to 6 years of age. The curriculum is inspired by their understandings of the work undertaken by colleagues working in the world renowned preschools and infant toddler centres in Reggio Emilia, in Northern Italy.

    The Inquire *Think* Learn curriculum focuses on inquiry based learning where children's ideas, interests and theories inform the design of curriculum experiences. Housed in two newly renovated buildings, the school offers a unique programme within an international preschool environment. The outdoor playground has been designed to ensure that children build deep relationships with the natural world. They include sensory gardens (scented planting areas; texture gardens and outdoor musical gardens) as well as a children's kitchen, or vegetable, garden; water course, digging and construction areas. Monthly salary of about SGD 4500 per month (USD 3621) plus housing allowance, flights, baggage allowance and medical insurance.

    1 year experienced nursery teachers are needed for an English medium private kindergarten serving local children in Qatar. The school delivers a bilingual curriculum using the National Curriculum of England and Wales as a framework. Teachers must be mindful of multi-culturalism and be sensitive to the local culture and religion. Skills of differentiated delivery on an English language basis are an essential pre-requisite considering the age and nationality of the children. Challenge and reward await those who are willing to teach in an environment that is essentially ESL and culturally diverse and applicants should be aware that this is not a typically western expatriate school.

    Standards, processes and attitudes will be different to what you are familiar in your home country, unless you have worked in a local environment overseas before. Please ensure that this is the school and student profile that matches your professional aspirations when you consider working abroad. Salary is offered on a tax free basis and is quoted at an average QAR 9000-10000 / GBP 1548-1726 / USD 2471-2745 per month (there is a comprehensive salary scale taking qualifications and experience into account) along with single occupancy on site furnished accommodation, return annual flights and medical insurance. Other benefits include a baggage allowance, a utility bill allowance and an end of contract gratuity payment; the contract is for two years.     The school prefers to hire teachers with 2+ years experience. They will consider NQTs as they have the capacity to mentor young teachers but the newly qualified teachers would need to have exceptional qualities. They prefer to take teachers from the following native English speaking countries: Canada, America, Britain, Australia and New Zealand. They take single teachers, married couples (with non teaching spouses) and pay full tuition for up to two dependent children. They are drawn to teachers who are flexible, enthusiastic and confident. Teachers are expected to fully contribute to the life of the school and therefore should be the type of person who settles easily into a new living environment and is able to concentrate wholly on their professional responsibilities. Teacher turnover is not high. The school has continued to grow and space for further expansion on this site is an issue.

    Teachers will be impressed with the actual campus site; it is flanked by Golden Lake on one side and some facilities (cafeteria) and classrooms have a very favourable Lakeside outlook.
