Description

A range of one to two-year Early Years and Primary experienced teachers are required for English medium schools for local children in Kuwait. Teachers must be aware that schools are typical western expatriate school and must be able and prepared to differentiate delivery on an English language basis, as well as being sensitive towards the local culture.

Kuwait, with its ties to the UK and the US, has been home to a large number of international schools long before its better known near neighbour Dubai burst recently onto the scene. As a result it is a very popular expatriate country; because of its size the western community and its social gatherings and clubs are extensive and vibrant.

With a higher (tax free) salary and lower cost of living typically than comparable schools the UAE, Kuwait offers huge savings potential with salaries starting from GBP 1700 for NQTs. For the adventurous traveler, Kuwait's location makes it ideal for holiday travel, with places such as Dubai and Muscat for short breaks and Asia and Africa for longer school holidays! Contracts are for 1 year.

Qualifications

Applicants must be fully qualified teachers and have state school teaching qualifications such as Bachelors or Masters of Education for Primary, or a degree + HDE/PGCE for Primary. Single teachers/married teaching couples with no dependents are preferred due to visa/accommodation restrictions.
