Description

The Tanzania Renewable Energy Association (TAREA) is looking for a volunteer to work out of their secretariat office in Dar es Salaam. This volunteer opportunity may be incorporated with one's research project or contribute to university credit.

* Duration: 3 months or longer
* Time commitment: Full time (30-40 hours/week)

The project aims at giving the young Tanzanians the opportunity to gain practical and theoretical knowledge about renewable energies and work opportunities in the sector. It is hoped that with the knowledge gained from their work as volunteers, they might have an easier start either into their own business or into work within the sector.

Qualifications

An ideal candidate would be a recent graduate, business school/law school student or exceptional and interested undergraduate with a strong interest in renewable energy and sustainable development willing to work in a small team to support the secretariat's daily functioning, outreach and policy initiatives, and also develop their own projects.

There is no stipend available but TAREA will support the chosen candidate's efforts to secure their own funding.
