  • Description

    Strasbourg is the place where much of the business of integrated Europe is carried out. It houses the Council of Europe, Court of Human Rights, and the European Parliament of the European Union. The Syracuse program is five minutes from the Council of Europe and the University of Strasbourg. It is designed to take full advantage of the cultural, political and geographical resources of the city. Internships, field studies seminars, intensive language, and cultural immersion all extend learning beyond the classroom walls into the history and living traditions of the old and new Europe.

  • Highlights

    * Homestays with French/German families.
    * Signature Seminars to Eastern (fall semester) and Western (spring semester) Europe.
    * Courses in English and French.

  • Degree Level

    Bachelors Degree (Undergraduate)

  • Qualifications

    Students should be enrolled full-time in the Syracuse University Strasbourg Program, as the internship is a part of their regular course of study. Internship requests are subject to availability and an on-site interview, and placements cannot be guaranteed. Many internships at the Council of Europe are open to students whose French is limited. The greater a student's fluency in French, the wider the range of internship opportunities. Students must complete an internship request form and be recommended by a faculty member in the field (or in a related field) in which they wish to be placed. References should specifically address the academic knowledge and particular skills (research, writing, etc.) that they can offer to the placement.
