Drug Policy in Global Perspective
Description
This seminar course will study substance abuse from humanitarian, transnational and public health perspectives as you travel to Amsterdam, Strasbourg, and Florence. You'll examine European and North American alcohol and other drug policies, assessing their impact at the regional, state, national, and international levels. Emphasis will be given to the contemporary phases of alcohol and other drug policies, drug wars and their connections with complex transnational economic issues, and immigration and human trafficking.
