The internships we arrange offer a unique learning experience completed in a host organisation. The internship links University studies with career goals.
An international intern can offer a host company a unique experience and benefit their organisation through an exchange of intercultural ideas. Although placements in Sydney are our main focus, we are able to arrange internships in Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide and Perth. No matter the location, an intern is provided with a direct
insight into their future industry through a supervised and supportive environment.
The educational objectives, qualifications and experiences of an intern determines the internship position they are offered.
Interns should be treated as a valuable member of the company with essential training and guidance offered in order to assist in their development and enhance their
skills. The internships we facilitate are not 'employment', but rather a voluntary unpaid learning experience. The main focus is on:
- Education
- Intercultural experience
- CV enrichment
- Developing business skills
- International office experience
- Improving English skills in a corporate environment
During the placement process and throughout the internship period, Sydney Internships provides assistance so that there is a regular support network.
Frequent contact is maintained both before the intern arrives and during their internship to ensure that they are comfortable with all aspects of their experience in Australia.
All interns and host organisations are required to complete a monthly training journal to enable effective monitoring of supervision and progress. In addition to visiting interns at their host organisation, Sydney Internships organises social meetings. This provides an opportunity for interaction in a casual environment, gather valuable feedback and for interns to meet each other.
As it is the first time away from home for many interns, Sydney Internships is able to offer support on any number of queries about Australian life. All emails are responded to in a timely, professional and efficient manner.
