Location
Brazil: Rio de Janeiro

Term
Summer

Dates
Early July - Early August

  • Description

Come to life in Rio de Janeiro, the "Marvelous City." It is an exciting place surrounded by a lush tropical forest and conveniently located by the Atlantic Ocean. The distinct contrast between the modern and post-modern architecture, the green of the rain forest and the liveliness of the beach atmosphere in the background, all paint a unique scenery. With a rich cultural life, Rio de Janeiro is the perfect place for those who wish to be immersed in the South American reality. It is an intriguing center for the arts, theatre, music, exhibitions, street performances, scientific conferences and cultural debates.

You will study at the Pontifica Universidad Catolica, one of the most prestigious and respected universities in Rio. The summer program is dedicated to Portuguese for Foreigners language studies only. The Department of Letters offers language courses at five levels, from Beginner to Advanced.

A mandatory Portuguese language placement test indicates the appropriate level for each student. If you haven't studied Portuguese but can speak Spanish with at least average fluency, you can be accepted into the program.
