    The town of Kingston-upon-Thames, a short railway ride away from the center of London, is a mixture of old and new with a daily open-air fruit, vegetable, and fish market as well as major chain stores, supermarkets, a shopping mall, night clubs, and multi-screen cinemas. The main campus is situated near two railway stations, 17 minutes away from the center of London, and a 12 minute walk from a boat service to Hampton Court Palace. The nearness of London, together with the proximity of Richmond Park, Chessington Zoo and theme park, Kew Gardens, and Windsor make Kingston-upon-Thames an ideal place for study.

    The summer program at Kingston uses its London location to its best advantage. Courses offered focus on their subject matter as it applies to London and the United Kingdom. Courses include: London & Its Literature, Shakespeare: Reading & Performance, Poetry Now: Reading & Writing Contemporary Poetry, Creative Writing & Theory,Border Crossings: Social Spaces in the Age of the Empire, Contemporary British Fiction, Outsiders in Film, Digital & Video Editing, British Culture & Society, Live Theatre, Scriptwriting, Acting for the Camera, British Art & Architecture, Museums & Galleries, Introduction to International Business, International Politics and Policy Issues in Criminal Justice.

    Qualifications:
    The program is open to all undergraduates with a minimum GPA of 2.75.

    Credits:
    Students are expected to maintain a credit load of 6 credits while on the program.

    Housing and Meals:
    Students are housed in Middle Mill Hall of Residence. Each student has a single room with wash basin, in a self-catered suite with shared bathroom and shared kitchen. Sheets and cooking utensils are provided. Free Internet access is available in the KU computer labs.
