International volunteering in the form of a journalism programme is a great way to enhance your resume and make you stand out from the crowd. Whether you are currently studying journalism or are considering it in college, journalism abroad with China will give you first hand international journalism experience. If you are already a practicing journalist, then volunteering abroad in Journalism will broaden your horizons and show you a different way of working in journalism against the backdrop of a new and exciting country.

We offer placements working as a contributing editor, photographer or writer for a range of Beijing-based publications: the leading business magazine, a daily English-language newspaper, a popular online photography website, and a city and lifestyle magazines. Days are spent covering local events, finding newsworthy stories, attending press rounds, conducting interviews with distinguished visitors from abroad of local celebrities, or talking to everyday locals to ascertain their views on a range of subjects and then writing up and editing articles. Other areas of work will include proof-reading and editing articles, possibly contributing to layout ideas, and just generally helping whenever and wherever your assistance is required. You also have the opportunity to get involved with the photography side of journalism. To work on a print journalism placement, with an international newspaper or magazine, you not only get an insider's view of how publications are run, but you will also compile an impressive portfolio to take home with you at the end of your program.

Whichever overseas journalism workplace you are, you will get an insight into the workings of the international media in a new cultural and political setting. For most of our journalism programme, you do not need any foreign language ability, as the publications and stations generally write in or speak English.

- When you hand in your booking form, we will contact you to confirm your space and programme details in no more than three working days.
- Before your departure we will help you with all stages of planning your trip, from sending you the travel and medical advice to coinciding with other travellers. We will make you feeling involved before departure

- Training courses are free of charge to give you an idea what you should or should not do in your programme.
- We arrange the transportation to your work place at NO extra charge if it is outside of Beijing. (Flights or trains)
- Accommodation and meals are included in the price (unless otherwise stated) during your programme.
- After finish your progamme, volunteer certificate and work reference are issued. It can be added in your CV to light up your future career.
- We stay in touch with you during your programme on 24 hours basis. Our local staff team will look after your day-to-day life, arranging your living and work, while our UK office communicates with your families around the world.
