Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
Description
The TESOL course is a three-month course though students are often able to complete it in less time if they have time to devote to it. This course provides you with valuable, practical experience-based training in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL). When you graduate from our course, you will earn a TESOL certificate * that will put you in demand as a qualified English teacher. The course is designed for teachers and prospective teachers whose first language is English or who are proficient in the language.
* A TESOL Certificate is a standard in ESL teaching. Our course has been recognized by schools around the world since 1998. Because of regional nomenclature and preferences, you may elect to take this as a TESOL Certificate, TESL Certificate (Teaching English as a Second Language) or TEFL Certificate (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). The three acronyms are pretty well synonymous. In Europe, schools ask for TEFL certification whereas in Asia and the Americas, they ask for either TESOL certification or TESL certification. Really, what they want to know is that when they hire you, they can be confident that they have hired a professionally trained teacher.
Want to travel and teach in Asia? We'll show you how to get there! Japan, Korea, Thailand, Taiwan and mainland China need thousands of English teachers right now!
