    At SQUOLA, Study Abroad Italy offers Semester, Summer Session and Short-Term immersion language programs, in combination with Italian Studies courses taught in both Italian and English.

    The contemporary approach of SQUOLA aims to go beyond traditional Italian language studies by teaching students how to speak and live in Italian society today. SQUOLA students will be exposed to the changing realities of the Italian language, its dialects, foreign influences, the advent of television and cinema, and the historic evolution of the language. During the semester SQUOLA offers two types of Intensive Italian Language programs: "Intensive Italian Language for 12 Credit" or "Intensive Italian Language for 9 Credits plus One Italian Studies course."

    Setting Located in Palazzo Ramirez de Montalvo, a 17th century palace in the historic center of Florence, the school's interior space has been totally renovated. Facilities include a language lab, and language class sizes are 8-12 students.

    Program cost includes the following items: enrollment (including application, course selection and credit transfer), housing, student health insurance, transcripts, and cellphone service. SAI also provides comprehensive student services, beginning at the pre-departure stage and leading to SAI on-site orientation and advising in Italy. Students attending SQUOLA may receive US credits from Fairfield University in Connecticut, or directly from the Institute.
