SASL provides students with opportunities to study the language, culture and history of Mediterranean Italy. In addition, the Institute offers students a unique blend of business, liberal arts and science courses; language development and cultural immersion.

At the Sant'Anna Institute Sorrento Lingue, SAI offers summer, semester and year long programs with a focus on Language, Art and Archaeology, Literature, Social Studies, Business, Natural Sciences and Liberal Arts courses. Highlights

Sorrento is considered one of the loveliest cities in Italy with its lemon groves, flower gardens and nearby beaches, lies close to many nature preserves and historic sites such as Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Capri.

Sorrento offers learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom with its churches and cathedrals that exemplify a wide range of Italian architectural styles. Sorrento also provides easy access to Rome and Naples for SAI excursions and guided field studies. Historically, Sorrento was a Greek village prior to the Roman Empire when it became a favorite of wealthy Romans whose villas on the sea are now notable ruins. Today, Sorrento's historical significance is evident and it continues to be a favorite locale for its spectacular natural beauty.

Scholarships are Available

Study Abroad Italy is pleased to offer scholarships each academic year. These scholarships are open to all Study Abroad Italy participants who meet the eligibility requirements. The scholarships listed below are offered to students attending any SAI program: Religious Studies Scholarship * One Religious Studies Scholarship of USD500. This scholarship is available annually to a semester student enrolled in at least one Religious Studies course at any of our schools. Chiara Scholarships * Two USD6,000 Scholarships; Chiara Scholarships Need and merit based scholarships offered for the Fall and Spring semesters. The recipient will receive USD6,000, applied towards Program Cost. Generously offered to SAI students by the Chiara family in support Italy and its heritage. It is their desire to offer an educational experience of studying in Italy to deserving students with evident financial need. Summit State Bank Scholarship * Summit State Bank of California generously provides a Fall semester scholarship of USD2,500. The requirement for this scholarship is that the student be a resident of Northern California. First Generation College Student Scholarship * USD 1,200 Scholarship: Applicant must be a US university student. Offered in the Fall and Summer (not offered in Spring). The recipients will have the scholarship amount applied towards final payment. Summer Session Scholarships * Two USD500 Scholarships: Applicant must be a US university student. Offered each summer to students enrolled in an SAI Full Program. Students may attend any Summer Session program at any SAI location to qualify. The recipients will have the scholarship amount applied towards final payment. Non-US Student Student Scholarship * Two USD1,500 Scholarships: Applicant must be a Non-US student. Available both Fall and Spring semesters. The recipients will have the scholarship amount applied towards final payment.
