The Summer-in-Berlin Program is a four to eight week, intensive language and cultural program to enhance a student's cultural knowledge and proficiency. Students can either participate in the summer program individually or join one of the credit-bearing group programs offered by the Universities of Richmond, Rochester, West Chester, Virginia Military Institute, or UCLA. Students may combine language instruction with an internship in Berlin.
Excursions and field trips in the Berlin area to sites of historical and cultural importance are an integral component of the program. Excursions to sites outside of the Berlin area (e.g. to Hamburg, Dresden, Weimar, Prague) are optional.

Studienforum Berlin e.V. (SFB) is an independent, non-governmental, non-political, non-profit organization. It promotes better understanding of the people, society, culture, and institutions of Germany and Europe among national, European and overseas students. Studienforum Berlin offers highly competitive, academically oriented educational semester, language, and internship programs for English speaking students and equips its students with well-developed analytical, conceptual, quantitative, and human skills. SFB organizes faculty development seminars on current European and German topics such as European Integration, Germany's Role in Europe, Global Warming and Sustainability Strategies. In addition, SFB conducts research on political and economic developments in Germany and Europe. Studienforum Berlin's programs are designed to develop an increased understanding and respect for a different cultural system and to nurture the ability to interact competently and responsibly in an interdependent world. They will help you understand the dynamic role of Germany and Europe and to expose you to its historical, political, economic, social and cultural heritage.
