* Pre Med
St. Martinus University Faculty of Medicine offers an intensive 3 semester pre-med curriculum. This course is designed for students who do not have the requisite number of undergraduate credit hours or do not meet the eligibility GPA requirements, but who demonstrate the potential to successfully complete the program. Each applicant is reviewed individually by the Admissions Committee whose decision is final. Students will get credit for college level courses they have completed in other academic institutions. Students who successfully complete the pre-med program proceed automatically into the medical program.
* Medical
The medical program offered at St. Martinus University Faculty of Medicine is a rigorous program that integrates the Basic Sciences into the clinical practice of medicine. The program in the Basic Sciences is offered over 4 semesters of 20 weeks each. We believe that a quality education cannot be rushed. 20 week semesters affords students the opportunity to integrate and retain the knowledge presented.
St. Martinus University has developed a unique approach to effectively prepare students for USMLE Step 1 and 2 and the Canadian Qualifying Examinations. This University recognizes the growing importance of Board Examinations in medical education.
This program consists of daily discussions in class regarding selected questions taken from established Board Review texts. This Review Program begins from semester 1 and continues until the student begins a residency program.
At the end of each of the four (4) semesters the student has the option of taking a 200 question examination that covers the material for that semester. At the end of the first year, the student may take an exam that covers the entire year. This same system is available for the second year. Finally, the student takes a simulated Board Examination. In all, the student will have been tested with over 2400 questions
The objective of this Board Review Program is to correctly prepare the student for the examination, clerkship rotations and clinical practice.
