Building the future.
What is an architect? An architect is someone who can provide built solutions to serious problems facing society. For example, United Nations' statistics say that 1.6 billion people worldwide live in substandard housing and 100 million are homeless. The long-term costs of a population living without adequate housing are too grave for governments to ignore. Political and industry leaders must search for solutions, and they will turn to a new breed of architects, those trained in sustainable design. As a field, architecture is on the brink of incredible growth.
The Masters in Architecture is at the center of SJIU's mission to discover solutions to the environmental challenges facing society. It prepares you to be a professional architect with a concentration in sustainable construction techniques and environmental impact planning. Our graduates--trained in Torino, Europe's greenest city--possess the skills to envision a new future for the built environment and to offer clients pioneering environmental solutions.
