The SJIU Certificate in Museum Studies is designed for professionals in the museum community and in the arts who wish to expand their knowledge of the growing field of museology. Theoretical, historical, technical and managerial aspects of museums and other cultural agencies dealing with exhibition practices will be explored from a multi-disciplinary perspective.
This course will explore the benefits of a sustainable museum culture that is able both to attract visitors and to create profits in the local economy while also conserving its educational mission, its dialogue with local communities and its care for cultural heritage.
Class-lectures will be enriched by practical exercises, museum visits and meetings with outstanding experts from the Italian museum world.
